No doubt it'll be the one hour I'm in a meeting that will be the deal I would have been interested in. That's what I figure will happen to me. Then again, could there won't be anything I'm interested in buying.

Oh, gods, I just realized... my bank is going to kill me for this! Every time a Big Finish order comes up, they call me to double-check if the charge was mine (as it's international and their system automatically flags such things, just to be certain). If I go for more than a couple of these sales, I may be making enemies of them...
Mind you, I'll also be getting up at 5am on my day off just to check the first sale, so I'm insane enough as is.

The "March Madness" sale will be a no-go for me. I'll be asleep when it starts and at work (without access to BF) when it ends.
So I might get the opportunity to take advantage of two or three of the hour-long sales at best, assuming it's for a title I don't already own.
So. . . "meh" on this sale. It clearly wasn't targeted to my demographic.

If the last hour is everything, that would not be too bad. Otherwise, it's hard both for people who work and for people who are not in their time zone. Makes me wonder a bit how much they thought this through and who exactly they are expecting to be able to take advantage of the sale. Even if I had the day off, I wouldn't be up early enough to take advantage of the first hours. And I wouldn't compromise my day off sleep even to take advantage of a sale, though I know some would. I'm feeling a little miffed about this sale, honestly. I think that's why they're calling it madness. they know the structure of it will restrict how many people can take advantage of the offers but are doing it anyway. I'm going to have to carefully study my work planner when I get into the office today.

Might be worth asking Big Finish

I am off work next week and will be working in the garden. I doubt I'll be able to check every hour, but the thing that annoys me is the implication that you have to either be on Facebook or Twitter to get notified of the sales - the article doesn't say anything about updating the website: Anyway, I hope some people manage to benefit from the sale Cheers Tony

However I'm on money saver mode at the moment so it's probably a good thing I won't be tempted. That Dark Shadows sale was unexpected, so I wasn't able to afford everything I wanted. I was planning to save up over the next couple of months to make the most of the expected June sale that would coincide with the release of Blood and Fire.

Unless of course they have a cunning plan ... Cheers Tony

Might be worth asking Big Finish That does seem risky. I sometimes drop new box sets into my basket towards the end of the month but hold off ordering till the final weekend in case there's one more sale I could buy from. Sometimes the earlier-added items are still in my basket, sometimes it's empty.

Cheers Tony Not everyone uses Facebook and Twitter (I only use to check one or two things overall and the last extended period of time I spent on either was the last Big Finish Day), which was a great thing about the old forum. The time zone thing is also annoying because it means people who live outside of the UK need to alter their sleep patterns just to see whats on offer, and even people based in the UK who have things like work or study either have to go out of their way to see what the offers are, let alone decide if they want to take advantage. At least with the 12 Days of Crispmas we had 48 hours instead of just one to decide if we wanted to take up the offer. A flash sale of this nature seems unfair to most current listeners with disposable cash,if there is any left after last weekend's Dark Shadows sale. People who have regular lives with work, study and other responsibilities and is very unfair to those who don't live in the UK. There'd better be at least 24 hours at the end with all the discounts for those who can't work around other non-Big Finish obligations to check their computer or smart phone every hour the sale is running.

Next Wednesday's Offers do seem odd because depending on time zone/commitments most people are only going to be able to get half the offers, there must be a 13th hour planned when every things available? but then again who'd take the risk?

A lot of comments here & on Facebook have been not happy about the sale. Maybe they should have done this on a Sat or Sun. But for me waking up early and checking quickly once an hour is not a big deal at all. In fact it's kind of exciting.
Right now I am checking practically every minute to see what today's sale will be.

It's sad that a sale can have so many negative comments - unfortunately in this case I think its inevitable. Seems Big Finish have dropped the ball with this one ...
Cheers

A good range, worth looking into for the curious! Well, there's only a couple of these I don't have (The Dark Planet, The Masters of Luxor, and The Second Doctor Box Set), so I might nab one of them for completion's sake. Otherwise, I'll save my cash for Wednesday... Funny enough, I'm actually listening to The Mega this week; I'm about half-way through at this point. A very entertaining story, well told. It fits in rather nicely with its era!

2nd Doc Boxset and Dark Planet are quite good. Avoid Luxor at all costs IMO!

Thanks for the advice; I've heard bad things about Luxor, so I never bothered before (even while being the person insane enough to have recently paid full price for The Dark Husband; it was the last Main Range release I needed to be caught up). I admit, the second half of the Second Doctor Box Set kind of turns me off that one (not a big dalek fan, even though I love Jean Marsh's audio voice). So I'll probably just nab The Dark Planet and be satisfied with that until Wednesday!
