I am off work next week and will be working in the garden. I doubt I'll be able to check every hour, but the thing that annoys me is the implication that you have to either be on Facebook or Twitter to get notified of the sales - the article doesn't say anything about updating the website: Anyway, I hope some people manage to benefit from the sale Cheers Tony Oh, goodness! They're only announcing it on Facebook and Twitter? Now I'm even more miffed. I could be wrong (hopefully), but that's how it reads. Thinking about it, it is probably be easier for them to update social media every hour rather than the website but it still excludes a whole section of fans. Cheers Tony

A lot of comments here & on Facebook have been not happy about the sale. Maybe they should have done this on a Sat or Sun. But for me waking up early and checking quickly once an hour is not a big deal at all. In fact it's kind of exciting. Right now I am checking practically every minute to see what today's sale will be. If they did it on a Saturday, I'd be even more annoyed, as I don't buy stuff or even check the internet on the Jewish Sabbath. I've missed many a good sale (in other places, not BF, so far) cause they were "Saturday only".

I think it will go on the website, they just recommend you use social media to get the prompt the next offer is up. I know this isn't going to work for everyone, but it's creating a lot of discussion, and the day itself will be exciting. I think they'll feel it's worth it because of that. Again, this is a business, not a fan collective. Any cosy family feeling people reminisce about is a thing of the past I'm afraid.

Strangely enough I'm listening through the 6th Doctor ones again atm.
2nd Doc Boxset and Dark Planet are quite good. Avoid Luxor at all costs IMO!

Thanks for the advice; I've heard bad things about Luxor, so I never bothered before (even while being the person insane enough to have recently paid full price for The Dark Husband; it was the last Main Range release I needed to be caught up). I admit, the second half of the Second Doctor Box Set kind of turns me off that one (not a big dalek fan, even though I love Jean Marsh's audio voice). So I'll probably just nab The Dark Planet and be satisfied with that until Wednesday! The Masters of Luxor is a delightful (lengthier than usual) throwback era Hartnell adventure! This story currently has a respectable 7.3 average rating from 46 voters on The **** ******. For the great price of only a fiver, stop your fussing and make your own mind up on its quality!

Reading the announcement, it appears to me the March Madness hourly sale is a way to get more people to follow them on FB and Twitter.

After Dark Shadows and a recent pricey Blu-ray Boxset purchase, they're gonna have to be some pretty sweet sales to crack this nut. Might have gone for a couple Lost Stories if they were £2.99. Oh well, maybe next time.

Of course if they are 12 "best loved titles" then it is highly likely most of us probably already own them.

Mark you're an old hand listener of Big Finish, and you know what you like and what you don't like. Since, The Masters of Luxor was a less than enjoyable listening experience for you then that's your prerogative to say so. I applaud your candor. The internet is a wondrous place; you can find 10 people that will say oranges (for example) are good for you and 10 others that will say differently.

I didn't mean to start a fight on this one! Everyone's allowed to have their own opinions, folks. I like Valhalla; not a lot of people do. I never really cared for Neverland, but I've read a ton of people who adore it. I take others' opinions as advice, but don't necessarily heed them closely. Heck, you want unpopular opinion? I'm not a Fourth Doctor fan. But I don't really hold a difference of opinion against anyone else (with one or two exceptions, but I save those for a rainy day). That said, there is still high hopes for Wednesday, so I'll stick with The Dark Planet for now. I just wanted to do this one on the cheap. I'll check out Luxor next time the sale comes around.

Woah! I didn't mean to start a fight on this one! Regardless of Mark not endorsing The Masters of Luxor and you not being a Fourth Doctor fan (such sacrilege). I always consider both of you to be very likable chaps.

The two musts for me if you don't have them already are The First Doctor Box Set & Lords of the Red Planet. Both absolutely excellent buy buy buy.
I am absolutely sure the 4th Doctor Lost Stories are also very worth it. I bought it at a previous sale but my guilty confession is I haven't heard it yet. Plan to listen to that soon. Maybe even next week.

It's so easy to build up a listening queue, isn't it? (says the person who used their tax return to buy 26 Dark Shadows titles last week) Yes, the Fourth Doctor set is well worth a listen. I usually find six-part stories needlessly long, but Foe from the Future does a startlingly good job keeping up the pace. Plus there's a specific scene (early in the last episode... no spoilers!) that I cheered out loud at. In the lunchroom. At work. I still get funny looks when I wear my headphones there.

Big Finish promises a sale and commenters complain.
Yes, it must be a day ending with a Y.
I have this cool phone. I can set an alarm to go off every hour. It can also navigate the web and I can place orders on it. This is not new technology.
But someone will always find a reason to complain.

Like time zones, lack of internet access either through computer or smartphone and not much time to decide on if you'd want to take up the offer? If you're in a meeting that's over an hour long and you can't duck out of it or use your phone, or out of cell or wifi range or have to change when you go to sleep just to see what's on offer, is that justifiable? Often the biggest complaint is from people who bought what's on sale before the sale was on, like upon release. That's just the nature of the sales. But when you have to change your behaviour or miss out, that's a justifiable complaint.

No, it's really not. It's a minor thing.
Big Finish tries to have a little fun, some people freak out as if it's a serious affront.

Coming from a poster who can't go long without moaning about titles not being available for download, that's more than a bit rich.

You make a good point. There is no legit reason for Big Finish Who-related titles to not be available as downloads.
But that's not the issue at hand.
