So now I'm thinking I'll definitely get: Hexagora The Rosemariners Masters of Luxor Guardians of Prophecy. I'm wavering on Mission to Magnus. Looking at some of the other Six and Peri ones I don't have yet, like Nightmare Fare, The Hollows of Time, The Macros, and Power Play. I listened to the trailers of all the Lost Stories I haven't heard yet (not just Six and Peri ones, but all of them) that they posted on Soundcloud, and have to say, they all sound interesting, but I can't decide.

As your going for Luxor I'd be interested in your thoughts on it and Magnus after you've heard them and what conclusions you draw.

I agree on Nightmare Fair but for Hollows ( This is just my two cents ) I have to heartily disagree on it as I felt it was a slog to finish and such a wasted opportunity not using a certain character because the bbc didn't want them to use as that character was appearing in an upcoming episode of the new series.

I'm only getting one more this time around. The others will have to wait till the next sale. So between Fair, Macros, and Magnus, which would be your first choice? (I'm not a big fan of The Celestial Toy Maker or Sil, partly picked Magnus cause of a comment I saw in the old forum. Edit: mark687, did you edit your response to include Hollows while I was composing my response?

And now I have all the Lost Stories minus the Fourth Doctor set as that price is way too high.

In the end I got: Hexagora The Rosemariners Masters of Luxor Guardians of Prophecy Nightmare Fair I'm glad that you didn't get Hallows. I completely agree with masterdoctor, it was almost incoherent and a waste of a particular character.

I'll probably get all the Lost Stories eventually. Just not this time. And definitely on sale.

I did get them all. I'm now quivering in fear at the thought of what the 30th will bring.

This was a good sale for me! I managed to fill my gaps in this range and now I have them all. I'm excited/nervous to see what the March Madness sale will bring.

I'll probably get it today, anyway, but thanks for the thought, masterdoctor . It's not my favorite but it definitely invokes the 2nd Doctor era & it has David Warner. Can never have enough of him. If I was to compare it. It reminds me of my feelings for Seeds of Death. Not my favorite but it has scenes I really enjoy. And it's 2nd Doctor. I always enjoy 2nd Doctor to some extent. To piggyback your comments, I love listening to the Rosemariners more due to its stellar cast rather than its story strength. Hines and Padbury are the Second Doctor dream team on audio. Warner is a legend and Clive Wood is fantastically memorable as the villain. To me, the Rosemariners is an easy listening treat!

Out of interest, do we have any idea why were the lost stories stopped? Was it simply a lack of complete enough material, rights issues, or a combination of both/other reasons? Just wondering, because judging from the wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unmade_Doctor_Who_serials_and_filmsThere was a substantial amount of partially completed/drafted storylines many of which sound fascinating (for both New and Old who), obviously resurrecting the range may be impossible, but I wonder if we'll ever hear any more of them on audio... (I swear I saw a youtube interview with Tom Baker at a recent(?) convention in which he mentioned BF was looking at the extant material for 'The Dark Dimension'...) In anycase looking forward to exploring this range when my 20(!) ordered stories arrive... On a semi related matter I was browsing Gallifrey Base earlier and I came across a couple of old threads discussing pitched/abandoned drafts and storylines for the various novel ranges in the 90's: gallifreybase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11024gallifreybase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140546The ideas range from the ludicrous to amazing (Lawrence Miles ideas could probably fall under both)...and although it might be a unfeasible dream range too far there's something quite intriguing about the idea of the lost prose stories/pitches being brought to life on audio...
