Wouldn't that make it problematic that the future Doctor does not recognise the Jacobi Master? I wouldn't have thought so, i'm still confused as to how the Tenth Doctor can openly state that Time Lords can recognise each other on sight and yet the Twelfth Doctor needs half an hour and a whisper in his ear to figure out who Missy is. However, if they really are concerned about it, just remember that MacQueen's Master is about to meet Colin Baker's Doctor. I think that was an RTD thing that just got ignored or forgotten about myself, like with Captain Jack's missing two years. Well hasn't Macqueen's Master essentially been going backwards, because didnt he first meet 8 in his timeline, was surprised that the Doctor knew who he was then, he goes back to UNIT : Dominion?

Yeah Dark Eyes 2 makes it clear that he's more familiar with the Seventh Doctor instead of the Eighth. For some reason he expected Seven to show up instead.

Yeah Dark Eyes 2 makes it clear that he's more familiar with the Seventh Doctor instead of the Eighth. For some reason he expected Seven to show up instead. He first meets Seven in UNIT: Dominion which is before Dark Eyes. Yes but that was only one encounter. He had to have met the Seventh Doctor several more times because there's no reason for him to expect that incarnation to show up. Out of all the incarnations of The Doctor, he expected the Seventh to show up.

Out of all the incarnations of The Doctor, he expected the Seventh to show up. It might just be because Seven was the one he saw most recently.

I think Big Finish might be hesistant to do Master stories set during the Time War. At the moment, there's quite a surge of intrest in Eighth Doctor material - and having The Master up agasint McGann is a nice jumping on point, particularly running alongside his successor's apperances onscreen and Eight's story now being very much the road to the Time War. Big Finish might prefer having an ongoing narrative with the character with Eight (with connections to other ranges) for now.

I think regenerating the Master directly from Macqueen to Jacobi would be fine, and putting said Master against the Doctor wouldn't be too difficult to explain - he could just be much younger than he was as Yana.

Has there every been a Master regeneration scene in any medium? I actually dont think there has been. Its all happened off screen, if you dont count the possession of Tremas

I thought Duck Eyes 2 was first for McQueen, because he was surprised that the Doctor recognised him.

Also, you want to throw things further into confusion...... Have McQueen regenerate into Gomez.

Also, you want to throw things further into confusion...... Have McQueen regenerate into Gomez. I wish they could, that would really mess up the Master's timeline. Missy is outside their contract though.

Has there every been a Master regeneration scene in any medium? *Something* is going on at the end of Deadly Assassin too.The Master's face on the clockface is fleshier and he may even have hair, plus the Doctor notes that he could have converted the energy coming from the monolith.
