Instead of a god like figure I think it would be interesting and be a good potential for satire if the Doctor was explored more as a (slightly reluctant) celebrity. Perhaps giving interviews, going to parties, having movies made about their adventures, perhaps asked to write their memoir, star in music videos.

There has been something similar done, in a really niche place- the final Second Doctor story in TV Comic. After being sentenced to his exile but having somehow escaped the regeneration (TV Comic came up with this setup to continue their comic strip with the Second Doctor after The War Games aired , as the Third Doctor hadn’t debuted yet), the Second Doctor takes up residence in a luxury hotel and becomes something of a local celebrity, appearing in newspapers. In the final story of this arc, he appears on a TV show, Explain My Mystery. One of the Mystery contributors is a farmer who claims his scarecrows are coming to life, which intrigues the Doctor to investigate himself. It turns out the scarecrows are controlled by the Time Lords and the whole thing was a trap to instigate the Doctor’s regeneration. The scarecrows promptly execute the Second Doctor and dump him in the TARDIS as he begins to regenerate, setting up for the start of Spearhead From Space. It’s a real oddity, but yeah the Second Doctor spent the final months of his life living the high life in a luxury hotel and became something of a celebrity from helping people with mysteries.

It’s a real oddity, but yeah the Second Doctor spent the final months of his life living the high life in a luxury hotel and became something of a celebrity from helping people with mysteries. That does sound interesting!😊 More weird opinions: I think it could also be interesting if we had a future incarnation of the Doctor that was played by a teenager (or someone who could pass for one) and have them pose as a student at Cole Hill School they could have their companions be their classmates. This incarnation of the Doctor would be considered a weird but gifted outsider much in the way Susan was in An Unearthly Child. They would need the right kind of teen actor but I think it could be an interesting take. I would like a main tv companion to be not from contemporary Earth. I would love an alien companion or someone from the future or past. When Capaldi eventually Big Finish they need to incorporate his music skills more into plot and his character. Think about it 12’s guitar playing is how he expresses himself when normal conversation fails. I also think that they should utilize his singing skills perhaps in a musical/rock episode or two! 10 is my second favorite Doctor but he was a jerk sometimes especially to Martha. 12 and Clara definitely did NOT have a father daughter relationship or an uncle niece relationship. This misconception is a major pet peeve of mine! People only read it that way because of the age difference. Despite the whole “I am not your Boyfriend” thing there was definitely romantic undertones, just look at Mummy on The Orient Express ( those longing glances during their nightcap) and especially the ending of Last Christmas! With Clara kissing him on the cheek, telling him that he was the only man she marry other than Danny, the heart shape in the background. The “no papa Nicole” thing Peter supposedly said was misquoted/exadurated by the media. Also this interview: youtu.be/K7i62ERas2s Nothing will ever convince me to change my mind on this either😉 We need a tv episode set in the 1980s where 13 and who ever her current companions are get dressed up in very loud 80s clothes! 13 dresses up like Madonna complete with fingerless gloves, and a perm. I don’t know what the plot would be but it would be nighttime and there would be lots of neon lights everywhere. There would definitely need to be a scene of 13 and whoever she is with jazzercising. Captain Jack should definitely be at least a partial companion to 13 next series!😁 We need a pseudo historical episode with 13 dealing with a sinister York chocolate maker! York has a long history of chocolate making and it’s a gorgeous historic Yorkshire city. I would love to see 13 go up against an evil Willy Wonka type! Hugh Laurie should play the Doctor at some point but playing it as a twist on his upper class twit character type he played in Jeeves and Wooster and Blackadder. Where he makes people think he’s a silly upper class twit and then shocks people by being the smartest person in the room. Also he would have to play the piano! I am convinced there is a more to why the Doctor wants to be ginger so badly🤔 I think it would be funny if we saw the Doctor trying to dye their hair ginger and it turning out rather badly but being so happy they managed to dye their hair! The companions would have to try to pretend that it looks good😄 They should bring back the celestial Toymaker And the Land of Fiction back to the tv series.

Even though I would not want an American Doctor (except perhaps some of the other timeless Doctors if they got someone like say Christopher Loyd) I wouldn’t mind an American show runner of Doctor Who as long as they had respect for the show, didn’t try to Americanize/ make it feel too Hollywood, and had good ideas for their era.

But as for structure of seasons, I lean towards two things: seasons with beginnings, middles and ends. Series 12 was a bit like this, but my favourite example of a Doctor Who arc is one of Big Finish's - the Sixth Doctor and Charley - each story pushes their ongoing narrative forward just that little bit, while still providing good adventure-of-the-month content. I would also love to see elements of every story tie into a big picture finale. Where an experiment done in episode four is revived by the scientist from episode two who experiments on the alien from episode seven. That kind of thing. (Destiny of the Doctor's final episode does that, as an example.) And gosh would I like to tie in some expanded universe elements. The most outlandish ideas there being having the Merlin Doctor onscreen and The Cabinet of Light adapted as a film.

It also introduces a completely new Doctor, who is freshly regenerated. (If you go in knowing nothing, it's entirely possible to not know which character is the Doctor until the reveal, as there are a few potential candidates!) They later reissued the novel and tweaked a few things to make the Doctor Who connection a bit more vague - the Doctor is "Doctor Smith" now. That version is also available as an audiobook and serves as a pilot for a series called Time Hunter (starring the other characters from Cabinet).

Interesting 🤔😊 More weird thoughts: I know a lot of people don’t like that Clara was considered so important to the Doctor and I do get where they are coming from everyone has their favorite companions and it must have rubbed people the wrong way that Clara would be considered so special. I have to say I love that the Doctor had a soulmate in Clara! A human that becomes very close to becoming the Doctor in her own right and influenced the Doctor during key moments. I know her storyline and relationship rubs people the wrong way and they have their right to their opinions because I do see where they are coming from different people like different things in Doctor companion relationships and that’s okay. But I personally find it beautiful and poetic (although not always completely sane) in the lengths that the Doctor and Clara went for each other! No wonder they were in love with each other and yes they were in love. Even and especially when the Doctor was in his 12th incarnation, just because he looked older does not mean that he automatically switched to being a father figure to her! Nothing will ever convince me otherwise 😊 The tv series needs to bring back the Christmas special! 😀🎄 I would love them to bring the Scorchies to tv for Christmas. Where perhaps they kidnap 13 and her companions and force them to perform a deadly Christmas special! Another idea for Christmas would be a classic or older modern companion coming back and reuniting with 13 (or the next Doctor after her). I want a multi Master episode of the tv series with Missy and the Sacha Dewan master where it’s finally revealed where in the timeline the Dewan Master fits! 14 should be played either Keeley Hawes, Jameela Jamil, Johanna Lumely, Angus Irmrie, Rupert Grint, or Matt King😊 Celia Irmrie should play the Master to Johanna Lumely’s Doctor They need to bring back Romana and have her played by Emma Watson. I love Doctors who show vulnerability which is one reason why 12 is my favorite Doctor

Probably one of the best instances of parallel development I've seen in Doctor Who fiction too. The Doctor from Cabinet of Light bears a remarkable resemblance to another incarnation that'd pop up in the same year. Completely unintended apparently, though his personality fits like a glove, walking in that emerald green fog beneath a pinkish night sky.

The Moffat era is modeled on two different fairytales: Early 11th Doctor era is Peter Pan: 11 is a seemingly eternally boyish trickster who goes on adventures and refuses to grow up. Amy is his Wendy Darling a girl runs away her raggedy man to have adventures away from everyday life.
Later 11 to (series 8 and 9) 12th Doctor era is Beauty and the Beast: When the Doctor was still in his boyish and outwardly approachable 11th incarnation he and Clara became like boyfriend and girlfriend. But then he regenerated into the older gaunt and harsher looking far more prickly 12th incarnation, and things became more difficult between him and Clara. But like Belle and the Beast, Clara helped him relearn social interaction and they slowly became more affectionate With each other. Even though he didn’t exactly transform into a handsome prince, 12’s looks and personality did subtly soften over time.
I wonder if any other DW story arches will be modeled after fairytales?🤔😊

Tecteun was The Other. Any suggestion that The Other was The Doctor is merely one of several false narratives seeded about the Matrix to hide the truth of the Timeless Child (whose contribution to early Time Lord society was significant, but purely passive and likely involuntary).

Alan Davies should play the Doctor at some point! He’ d be perfect!
I need a big finish scorchies Christmas story where 12, Bill, Nardole, and Missy are forced to perform in a Scorchie Christmas special and slowly get turned into puppets!
The Doctor needs a pet again robotic or otherwise!
I really miss the dynamic of the Doctor Companion duo! I would like a series with 13 and Yaz but if not then I want whoever 14 is to be a duo with their companion.
I Kind of really want the Doctor in either tv or Big Finish to temporarily get turned into a vampire or werewolf!
I think Doctor Who should try doing a Halloween episode!
I know it’s American but they really should do a story based on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow!
I really want to see more of the crazy rooms in the TARDIS! Especially the swimming pool ( which most definitely has something living in it!)
When Peter eventually does Big Finish 12 needs to go full on David Bowie at some point!
Whenever the first ginger Doctor is cast they will constantly bring up their ginger hair at least once an episode!
We need more Frobisher the penguin!
Sixie and 12 have the best singing voices of all the Doctors! However if they ever met they would clash a lot with their music tastes! Sixie with his preferred operetta and 12 with his rock🎼🎸
I would be really curious to know how a road trip with 3, the Brigadier, and Jo Grant in Bessie would go🤔 I want more of the Beauty and the Beast 12/Clara dynamic explored in expanded universe.

Alan Davies should play the Doctor at some point! He’ d be perfect! - looks like Verity Lambert thought so too (Jonathan Creek) I know it’s American but they really should do a story based on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow! - I have thought so too in the past. It's a proper Who style gothic tale I would be really curious to know how a road trip with 3, the Brigadier, and Jo Grant in Bessie would go🤔 - I think Jo could become grating after a while and be at risk of getting left at a service station! I think Doctor Who should try doing a Halloween episode! - definitely! The episode of The Chase where they are in the 'House of Horrors' is my favourite of that story. I need a big finish scorchies Christmas story where 12, Bill, Nardole, and Missy are forced to perform in a Scorchie Christmas special and slowly get turned into puppets! - a great idea for a trio and I think Missy against the Scorchies would be a classic encounter! Some really good ideas, timegirl. I particularly liked these ones - which Doctors do you think would be best in the Halloween & Sleepy Hollow settings?

If it was for big finish either 4 or 12, because I associate them with gothic horror the most! Also I love 12 in any senerio😉If not them then for some reason I feel like 10 and Donna because they would defuse the tension. Or Sixie because I feel like he would be fun! A Halloween big finish story with a werewolf 12 would be fun! And Missy could try to keep him as her pet🤣🐺

I'd like more of that kind of Dr Who as it never dates. Four and Twelve are ideal. Sixie and Peri were in a great Gothic Horror BBC PDA called Grave Matter, by Justin Richards, which was very enjoyable and to myself, one of the best evocations of what could have been on TV if they had gone even more gory with the body horror after S22...

Although, I would also not mind Sixie in there... (of course I would say that). Because Colin certainly would be up for this and he does not play evil and possessed nearly often enough.
