With the license renewed through to 2025, I thought I'd start a new thread to discuss predictions we have for the next decade of BF Who Adventures:
My predictions/hopes:
-Frobisher will return in a special boxset with the 6th Doctor
-The 7th Doctor and 8th Doctor's will have 'Almost the last adventure' releases leading into The TV Movie and NOTD
-The 1st and 2nd Doctors will get new companions in the Early Adventures
-10 and 4 will have a multi Doctor story
-BF will possibly negotiate the rights to Grace etc from the TV Movie
-The Lost Stories will return, expanded to cover New Who and Torchwood
-Smith and Capaldi will reprise their roles for BF
-The Novel Adaptations will continue, expanded to cover the other Doctors

I have so many hopes for Doctor Who at Big Finish. I would love to see a box set written by Russell T Davies. I'd love for multi-Doctor stories to be a semi-regular thing but more than anything else I hope for Big Finish to push the range, and all the titles covered under it, into new & interesting place. Continue to tell great stories but tell them in new ways. Twist & shape the ways of breaking the story.

A Big Finish Doctor Who tale will have unforseen darker consequences in a quietly played twist in a Torchwood release.

That we still have all our main actors... healthy enough to want to perform

As the years go on recasting will become more common and fans will have to accept it.

I'd actually like to see an existing Big Finish production animated and broadcast on TV.

Hopefully Christopher Eccleston will eventually return & we can get an ongoing series with him & Billie & maybe even a box set or two set after he regenerated. I still want to see a story with that family in the photograph around the time of Titanic's maiden voyage.
I think its a given we will get more David Tennant audios but hopefully Billie & Freema will join him & we may even get a new companion for 10.
As much as i like where they are taking the 8th Doctor id love a few early adventures for him, maybe do another trilogy with Mary Shelley & a box set with Samson & Gemma just give him some lighthearted fun stories.

I'd actually like to see an existing Big Finish production animated and broadcast on TV. Whilst I think it's a cool idea, I think it probably much easier for BF to create the sound track to new story animation. And given that BF/Jason own more than one animation house, the likely hood may not be that distant, although I doubt it would be Doctor Who because of licence/BBC.

The Last Centurion Adventures Cheers Tony Thats a brilliant idea Rory is one of my favourite companions & id lap up anything big finish do with him in! Maybe they could do a series with just him & 11 when they are searching for Amy after her kidnapping.

Just a few things I think would be cool to see in the coming few years: - More adventures with the Tenth Doctor - The Ninth Doctor Adventures (hopefully) - The Eleventh Doctor Adventures - A revival of the Companion Chronicles with NuWho companions included - Frobisher and Ol' Sixie - A few early adventure stories for the Eighth Doctor, whether with Samson and Gemma or Mary Shelley OR an entirely new companion - Novel Adaptations for Blood Harvest, Goth Opera, Cold Fusion, State of Change, and Killing Grounds, as well as the Eighth Doctor novels - More adventures with Five and Turlough, or Five, Turlough and Tegan, OR with Five, Tegan, Nyssa and Adric - A few more Philip Hinchcliffe Presents or other four/six-part stories for the Fourth Doctor - More stories with the Earthshock-style Cybermen or the Spare Parts Cybermen

Nine and a new companion. A recast Harry Sullivan. More Fitz Kriener (maybe with Compassion).

Nine and a new companion. I can't see it working very well. Series 1 is basically Rose's story; take her away and you've got something entirely different.

I predict that not only will we see a recast Harry Sullivan but we'll also see a recast Liz Shaw and Ian. William Russell is 91 and unfortunately he almost certainly won't be around for another ten years. It would certainly be incredible though if William Russell lived to surpass 100. Even Tom Baker is getting up there in age.

Nine and a new companion. I can't see it working very well. Series 1 is basically Rose's story; take her away and you've got something entirely different. That is a fair point, 9 grows and heals as a character due to his friendship with Rose, anything outside that arc could undermine this growth, on the other hand it would give us a completely different viewpoint on the 9th Doctor, and hypothetical 9th Doctor stories wouldn't have to be tied to the arc of Series 1...it's a similar argument in some ways to BF doing lots of 5/Peri stories, whilst it wouldn't actually contradict anything, it arguably undermines what we see on TV. That said, I see no reason why BF, Titan comics etc couldn't just have 9 drop Rose and/or Jack off for an hour or two and have him answer a rescue beacon or pick up a new companion (like 8 did with Gemma and Samson) you could easily set new stories prior to (or during) Rose when 9 is recovering from the time war, or off screen 'Did I mention it also travels in time?', Moffat seemingly made a deliberate point of making the War Doctor around 800 years old, whereas 9 states his age very clearly as 900 later in series 1 (and it's not like the Doctor can even track his own age reliably...). I quite like the idea of the 9th Doctor running into a former companion of the 8th Doctor... His adventures with Rose could very well be some the last 9 has...

Nine and someone else would make his healing be both the result of Rose AND something inherent in the Doctor, rather than "the Doctor got over his grief because Rose is so special".
