It could be there are no definite plans in place, so there's nothing concrete to hint at or announce. Things are often announced after it's certain that's what we'll get. I think "No Plans" covers that rather more succinctly.

It would be a definite shame if the range was dropped forever, since I haven't had the opportunity to read the Virgin New/Missing Adventures and the range sort of gave me the opportunity to do that. Still, I can definitely understand if the range needs to be set aside for now in order to make way for bigger and better projects in the near future.

I would be very sad if the adaptations ended, as the NAs/MAs were a big part of DW for me in my teenage years. Having said that, I can see how the law of diminishing returns will apply to the range as the popular/expensive/landmark novels get adapted and BF are left with only the not-quite-so-popular/rare/landmark novels to adapt. Much as I would love it, BF are never going to adapt the complete set, but I think it's a bit soon to stop as there are still a good number of very adaptable novels to go yet.

I was hoping for more missing adventures to get adapted like Goth Opera & Shadow of Wing Chiang.

I was hoping for more missing adventures to get adapted like Goth Opera & Shadow of Wing Chiang. There's a not unshapely Mary Tamm-sized hole in any potential future performances of Shadow of Weng-Chiang. It could be changed to Lalla Ward's Romana but at least for me that would be a change too many.

Quite. now, I'd not be aversed to meeting a new Harry Sullivan via an adaptation of "Harry Sullivan's War".

I think it's simply due to them getting the new series rights and having too many Doctor Who ranges to focus on at the moment.

That does make sense. They need to get those series settled before going back to others

If true, it's very sensible and out of all the ranges you'd have to sacrifice, the novel adaptations seem to be the ones with the least collateral damage. Those stories exist elsewhere in print after all, unlike the Early Adventures which has just started out and the company mainstay that is the Monthly Range.

Hello again, Hopefully, they will do another series in the future. I am currently trying to listen to Damaged Goods as my book at bedtime. The Capper is terrifying. Unfortunately, due to my medication I keep dropping off!! I still haven't got to the end after a month!!

It's been lovely to have these as sort of full-cast bonuses to the Monthly Range and they've all been something special as well, so I would certainly miss them. On the other hand, I can understand if BF has to set the range aside with all the New Series projects and things like Classic Doctors, New Monsters will also be wonderful bonuses to the Monthly Range, I'm sure. Whatever works, is my vote :-)

I'm thinking "Festival of Death", or maybe something like "the Plotters".

If the range continued
Sanctuary, Sky Pirates, or the Alternate Earth Arc.

I so want it to be Lungbarrow, but I really can't seeing it being so.

Marc Platt said he had no interest in adapting Lungbarrow for audio, and Festival of Death was re-released for the 50th anniversar. Big Finish aren't adapting the novels that were re-released by the BBC in the last several years, probably because they are now widely available rather than the audio being the only easy to get hold of version of the story (like Damaged Goods or Well-Mannered War). English Way of Death, that was likely BBC Books choosing it for the History Collection after Big Finish had begun production on their adaptation (the news story, which included pictures from recording, was put out before the History Collection was announced).
Besides, if you like Festival of Death, get the Fifth Doctor audio Cobwebs. It's the closest you'll get to Festival of Death on audio anyway.

That's a brilliant book. Of course it would have to depend on Freema being willing to reprise the role of Martha. Forever Autumn might make a better comic strip though. The New Series book I'd love to see (and hear) adapted is Beautiful Chaos because it's such wonderful material for Donna's family.
