The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - A wonderfully inventive, gorgeous-looking film with a joyous sense of adventure. So, naturally, it made no money whatsoever at the box office. Why do so many unique and wonderful things get overlooked? I understand that, say, David Cronenberg is not for everyone. But this is an exciting, eye-catching fantasy appropriate for people of most ages. I guess Crocodile Dundee or some damn thing was just that much more enticing.
Ah, well, nobody can see everything, I guess. But if any of you haven't seen this, I highly recommend it.

Groundhog DayNever seen it before. It was such a delightful film Premium RushSurprisingly good. It reminded me of an anime where they take a really niche subject and just blow it up to the extreme.

Yesterday: Clue - Found out this was on Prime while tooling around looking for something to watch. The cast is all so YOUNG! Anyway, I don't care what the reviewers say, I think this movie is hilarious. The Sting - A bit long, but still pretty great. Smart story, enjoyable performances, well made. Today: True Grit (1969) - Mattie Ross is annoying as hell (and exactly how old is she meant to be?) La Boeuf is appropriately awful. John Wayne is....John Wayne. Beautiful cinematography. I'd love to visit the American southwest some day, but visiting America is firmly off of the to-do list for the foreseeable future. And jeez didn't Robert Duvall ever have a full head of hair? The Goonies - For its 35th birthday tonight. Still stands up. Still tons of fun

'The Fantastic Four' (1994) - one of the most wonderfully ridiculous things I've ever seen in my life! Tim.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
Still utterly dreadful. Only things I like about it are the Silver Surfer and Michael Chiklis as the Thing. In fact, when they are ultimately introduced into the MCU I’d love to see Mr Chiklis reprise his role.
I still can’t bring myself to forgive this film what for they did to Galactus though.

Stargate Love this film, shame we never had a sequel, but the series was a great continuation as well. They are planning a reboot arent they?

Emmerich and Devlin have been claiming they’re doing sequels/a reboot ever since the TV series took off. That has never been true. As to a reboot/revival of the TV franchise...who knows.

Anyway, I don't care what the reviewers say, I think this movie is hilarious. We watched Clue in Grade 7 or 8 when we studied Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None - after we had watched the 1965 film adaptation set at a ski lodge. In that film, the characters screamed and screamed as hard at the last body as they had at the first. In Clue, by the time they find Yvette on the pool the table, they're just shrugging. As a result, that was the most memorable moment for me. I loved Clue then, and loved it when my wife and I re-watched it on Prime earlier this year. Also in regards to the ending: While the home video release shows all three endings, they screened different endings in different theatres! Which is ridiculous! I love it!

It's one of the few comedies that ages like wine. 100% deserves the reappraisal it's been getting.

Also in regards to the ending: People often mention this film alongside "Murder by Death", which has a *missing* ending. Actually, it's not quite as exciting as that sounds but the cinematic and most tv versions miss out
