Cutthroat Island, why this film was given such bad reviews amazes me because i found it to be a fun fast paced action packed adventure. Trust me there's a lot of bad movie's out there this ain't one of them. I think it was a political thing. The critics and audiences did not take well to Renny Harlin promoting his then wife Geena Davis to a box office lead.

Today I made my way through the 'Twilight' films for the first time, because I'm bored and I apparently hate myself... You know what though? Ok, they were ok. I don't know if I'd ever be in a rush to see any of them again, but, well, there are worse ways to spend a quiet Thursday... Twilight - Alright, that was... Actually alright! Whilst I'm not going to say that it's the greatest film I have ever seen, I think I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. New Moon - That was alright, I guess? (Shrugs) 'Not the greatest film in the world, but the 2hours went by quickly enough. Eclipse - Well, that was certainly... 124minutes. I've seen better finale build-ups, I've seen worse finale build-ups. It exists, 'Eclipse' exists... 'Breaking Dawn' part 1 - If you were to condense that down to, say, half the time, you'd loose pretty much nothing... 'BD' part 2 - Not every series finale needs to be an 'Avengers Endgame' level epic, sometimes all you need is something that's kinda sweet in places. My only real 'complaint' about it (apart from "the battle that never was") is that it didn't really need to be a two-part film (totalling just under 4hrs)... With some major condensing of part 1 & some trims to part 2, yeah, it probably would have been fine enough at, say, 2hrs 40-odd... Anyway, it's quarter-past one in the morning, permission to go to bed? I think the first movie is pretty good but you get diminishing returns from the rest of the series although they are all quite watchable. I agree about BD 1 & 2: they could easily have been one movie but it was a thing at the time for literary adaptations to stretch the final volume into two movies. interestingly, I can’t bear the books but don’t mind the movies. The same can be said for the Fifty Shades movies and books, the films of which are infinitely better than the source material. (On the original BF Forum, someone posted a thread for guilty pleasure movies and when I mentioned Twilight they proceeded to give me a thrashing for enjoying such a terrible, ideologically unsound movie. It escalated when I pointed out the purpose of the thread. I do believe the poster’s username may have almost rhymed with Bagpuss.) Indeed so. I was never bored by them, but, you know, the middle two films were just... There. I can only think of three where they split the finale into two films (this, Harry Potter & The Hunger Games, the latter of which I did watch through last week). I don't necessarily mind the idea (I do have a soft-spot for multi-parters), there just needs to be enough material to justify it, which I don't think that 'Breaking Dawn' really did... I can't say that I've read the books myself (I was considering getting them from the library, but they never seem to have the first), but, I don't know, maybe one day? The same goes with the 'Fifty Shades' books/adaptions, but, I don't know, considering that I've been watching a few film series I've been avoiding recently, who knows? I sure as heck don't... 'Twilight' was alright, 'Twilight' was alright. Like I mentioned yesterday, I'm glad I've seen them (the fact that I finished at quarter-past one in the morning is neither here nor there), they're fine, but I don't think that they're really something that I would maybe watch on a regular basis.

Nightmare Before Christmas As it is the first of October I thought I would rewatch one of my absolute favorite Halloween (and Christmas) movies! This movie just makes me so happy every time I watch it( which I have been doing every year since I was about 4 years old)! Everything about it is just perfect from the characters to the story to the songs and visuals! Henry Sellick, Danny Elfman and Tim Burton and everyone else involved did an amazing job. Speaking of the songs once they get in my head they never leave! Does anyone else think that the creatures in Halloween Town are cuter than the Christmas elves? They all just have so much personality! Side note: Jack Skellington was one of my first crushes on a fictional character growing up 🥰💀 .....umm, I’m not sure what that says about me😳🤔 Well, Zero certainly is.

Yesterday: Fanboys (my 375th of lockdown =_=) - I don't know if I, quite, enjoyed it as much as I did when I was younger, but I still found it enjoyable... I had planned on marathoning the 'Star Wars' prequels afterwards, but, as I'd spent most of the day before watching 'Twilight', I thought it best if I didn't... Inkheart - As I got the book recently, I thought that I might as well give the adaption a watch. Despite having not seen it since I saw it on the big-screen (just before Christmas 2008), there was a fair amount that I could visually remember! I'm not going to say that it's the greatest film I've seen recently, but it was still decent enough Canadian Strain - On an unrelated note, this one might just be my favourite of the week. A weirdly sweet (take a drink every time I've said that recently) comedy about a drug-dealer... Good way to spend an evening, good way to spend an evening. It was nice to see Colin Mochrie in something again too After work this evening, I watched '100% Wolf' (I know, I'm judging me too). I've seen better, I've seen worse... But that might just be because I'm not exactly in the target demographic.

Terminator 2
Never actually watched any film from this franchise, but T2’s reputation precedes it and it happened to be on ITV.
Impressive action, strong characterisation and performances on point. I get why it has such a good reputation, I can’t fault anything here.

Spooktober - Day One: The Phantom of the Opera (1925) - The original Lon Chaney classic. The restoration they've done on this film is incredible. Spooktober - Day Two (yesterday) : Dawn of the Dead (1978) Dracula (1931, English version) Spooktober - Day Three: Dracula (1931, Spanish version) The Thing (1982)

Young Frankenstein - It still amazes me that Mel Brooks managed to release not only this movie, but also Blazing Saddles in the same year. I prefer Saddles for its outright lunacy. Young Frankenstein is not as funny, in my opinion. It's more of a loving tribute than anything, though it's not short on memorable moments - Roll in ze hay, put the candle back, Frau Blucher scaring the horses. It captures the overall feel of its topic better than Blazing Saddles, or any other Mel Brooks parody for that matter.
It's a movie that makes me smile and feel happy, just not one that has me on the floor laughing.

Manhunter (1986)
Brilliantly shot with some good acting. Unfortunately it’s just very, very slow.

Deep Blue Sea 3, shockingly bad, it lacks bite & needed far more carnage.

After work on Saturday I watched '100% Wolf'. Passable, that was... Passable? I know I'm not exactly in the target age-group, but I've definitely seen better films aimed at younger audiences...
Last night: Undercover Cheerleader - As made-for-TV films go, that was ok, I guess? "I've seen better, I've seen worse", though the reveal of the killer was a nice surprise.
Clerks - It still weirds me out to think that I was born on one of the filming days (and, like Dante, as I was given it off as holiday, I wasn't actually meant too be at work either...).
Transference - I mainly had it playing in the background whilst I did other things, but the parts I was properly watching were at least ok.
Today: Rocky 1 - Haven't seen it before (I might be seeing number 5 at the cinema tomorrow, so-). I'm not going to say it's a favourite of the ones I've seen recently, but I can see why it's so highly regarded.
Murder On The Orient Express - My mother recorded it off the TV last night (and proceeded to snore her way through it this). I don't know if I quite enjoyed it as much as I did as when I saw it on the big-screen, it was still a fun enough watch.
After - 'Currently about halfway through and yes, I am far, FAR, too sober...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Bill And Ted Face The Music. Colossally good fun in the spirit of the original movies. Good natured but slight.
