Josie and the Pussycats (2001) Legitimately good (if extremely over the top) and sometimes dark satire about rock music, subliminal messaging, and consumerism. Catchy songs and some of the most over the the top (and scene stealing) performances from Parker Posey and Alan Cumming! This movie very underrated! Indeed it is. I think everyone can agree that’s it’s financial failure was mainly due to the fact that no one had a clue on how to market the thing.

Obviously it would be a bit different, but I wonder if it would have done better if it was released now? They’d probably be more of a taste for it had it been released now. Mind you, the music scene of the early noughties and now is vastly different and I don’t know how much nostalgia there is for Josie and the Pussycats as a property now a days.

Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus - I will admit to 'only' having seen a handful of episodes during my first year at university (9yrs ago now, sheesh!), but, whilst I'm not going to say that it's not without a couple of flaws narrative-wise, that was a fairly worthy conclusion to the show.
Fallen - Yeah, film industry? Just because you *can* give a Wattpad YA book a film adaption costing forty-million dollars (Jesus Christ!) doesn't necessarily mean that you should (one to five? Sure, but not *forty*!)... (Also, whilst I have you, did you maybe want to take a look at the script for the Christmas film I've been working on since December 1st? It's finally over 90pages!) Alright, that was... Alright. I have (of course) seen better films aimed at a teenage-audience, whilst I will admit that I did have some of it playing in the background whilst I cleaned my bathroom, that wasn't actually (quite) as bad as I was expecting!
At the moment I'm a little over halfway through the book it's based upon, and I'd happily at least consider giving the others a read should my local library have them (or, you know, Ebay has them cheap)...
As I've spent the past eight days watching the 'Harry Potter' films, I had planned on watching 'Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them' a watch this evening (as I haven't seen it before) but, sadly, ran out of time... 'If I'm up to it though, if I get back from work tomorrow quickly enough (I finish at 9.15 & normally get back just before 10), I might consider giving it a watch before bed.

The Shining
Another one where I was well aware of its reputation but never actually seen and stumbled across it on TV.
I don’t think I need to elaborate on why this film deserves its reputation; simple yet effective presentation, striking horrific imagery, great performances.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Fun and beautifully gothic, adaptation of Sleepy Hollow. Is it scary? No, it far too silly to be scary, I giggled through most of it! Is it a faithful adaptation of the book? No, not at all! But is entertaining and and dripping with Halloween atmosphere? Hell yes!

I saw both of them on the big screen when they came out (I'd have been 11 when the original came out, and I've always had a soft-spot for it). The sequel's... Alright? I liked it when it came out, but there are a couple of things I'd have done differently (mainly along Nando V Movies from Youtube's route...). But then I am mainly just bitter that it completely ignores the 'Rise Of The Underminer' game, so...

Good fun and as you say, not scary, but a glorious tribute to the Hammer Horror 1960's era. Plus Johnny Depp before he was too familiar in this kind of kooky fantasy Tim Burton/Caribbean Pirates fare. It's well done, and reaches the tone it intended. Change of film: Have you ever seen 'A Company of Wolves'?

The only thing is I am worried about is it might be too gory🤔 Would you say it’s worth giving a try?

The only thing is I am worried about is it might be too gory🤔 Would you say it’s worth giving a try? Oh its definitely not gory. Well not in terms of bloodletting. And it has Angela Lansbury in it too! I remember when we rented it on VHS mid 80's and kept waiting for it to develop into a bit more scary action/horror fright fest (parents huh). But I liked it better than they did and taped it when it came on the Telly. It is far more of a fantasy fairy tale evocation of Little Red Riding Hood, but with werewolves and a little bit of good violent bits to make it to make it a surreal sleepy nice dream with a few bloodletting 'turns into a nightmare' elements (as that's how nightmares evolve). Its an allegory within a dream, without spoiling it, as that's how it begins..... I think that as you like Legend, by Ridley Scott, it will be more of that vein than, for example Dog Soldiers or An American Werewolf in London.
Very Hans Christian Anderson but with more adult overtones. Makes me want to watch it again. Must borrow the copy my Brother bought last year.....

Body Heat - It's saucy. And makes for a good 80s neo-noir pairing with Blue Velvet. It lacks David Lynch's unique...Lynchness, naturally, but makes up for it with devious construction.
