As a big Uriah Heep fan, what The Osbourne's did to Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake was disgusting. Stole their songwriting royalties for decades then when they were forced to give them back...overdubbed them with Ozzy's 2000s band. Yeah, there's a reason I stuck with my old CDs for Blizzard and Madman. At least ZZ Top saw sense in the end. The Osbournes are notorious backstabbers who keep a grudge for decades. AMEN.. yes.. $auron learned from the best crook- her father Don.
Then they tried to destroy each other when Sharon "stole" Ozzy. Don only got Ian Gillan into Sabbath to try and counter Ozzy's US success. Sharon gets the bad rap but Ozzy is complicit. I don't give him a pass. As Dio said it suits him to act the fool - but he knows how to stick the knife in.

The Suicide Squad. Enjoyable & a big improvement on the previous film but still very inconsistent, starts & ends well but drags a lot in the middle & could have done with being a bit shorter.

Highlander Never seen it before. That's some classic 80s fantasy. Clancy Brown kills it as the scenery chewing villain!

Just saw James Gunn’s Suicide Squad. That was not what I was expecting, I can say that at least! It’s pretty good, I think, but if you go in expecting another Guardians of the Galaxy... well, okay, it’s kinda like that? Just DEFINITELY don’t bring the kids!

I feel like I should clarify I did NOT know going into this film that it was R rated, so there was definitely some culture shock to say the least!

Same as others just seen suicide squad........not that impressed
The whole thing seemed like a knowing joke that wore thin after 20 mins
Personally it was no better than the previous effort, swapping the workman like plot of the previous film for cartoon violence and knowing jokes.........
Not bad, just not great.......yet another miss-fire for DC for me.

The Great Game (1953) slightly comedic football drama. Very strong performance by Sheila Shand Gibbs.
Doctor Who actors - Glyn Houston (The Hand of Fear, The Awakening), Geoffrey Toone (Dr. Who and the Daleks, The Curse of Peladon),

It does seem like a film that thinks its a lot funnier & smarter than it actually is.

This afternoon I had another triple-bill at the cinema.
Paw Patrol - Don't look at me like that, I (technically) had a free ticket! (I now have a £9.99/month membership card, so anything above two films a month is technically free)... I'm not going to be in a rush to ever see this again, but it was at least better than I expecting it to be (especially for a film aimed at a junior audience)... Alright, it was alright.
Stillwater - Enjoyed it pleasantly, but I think that, at 2hrs 20, it was maybe just a little bit too long... 'Definitely one I'd consider watching though, I will say (though have to ask, what actually did happen to 'that one guy'?).
The Last Letter From Your Lover - I've been looking forward to seeing this one for a little while now, and am certainly glad that it's out!

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

The Three and Four Musketeers
Richard Lester’s adaptation of the novel is probably the most faithful I’ve seen. It’s long enough (two movies shot as one: many of the cast and crew went to court to get paid for two movies worth of work rather than just one) to include a lot of minor characters who would normally be excluded from an adaptation. There’s a lot more humour here than in the book and a lot more in the first movie than in the second - sometimes it seems that the first film is a comedy with some dramatic scenes while the second is a drama with some comedy scenes. In a single movie that would have been quite the build up of tension but across two movies it feels a little jarring.
Anyway, I really enjoyed them (much more than my wife) and they look wonderful, despite a few performances and scenes being a little “of their time.” The four leads are having a great time and the fight scenes are terrific: the duel between D’Artagnan and Rochefort at the end of the second film is fantastic: both characters are exhausted from fighting others but they still go hammer and tongs.
Immense swashbuckling fun.

Wouldn't call it acting, sadly my cousins taste in what's funny is questionable, his favourite comedy is King Frat so enough said.

Yesterday and today (so far) :
Vertigo - Probably the first time I've watched this in ~20 years. Just a marvel of filmmaking. Hitchcock was working on just a whole other level. Every single shot in the movie is just stunning. Perfectly framed, colours that both POP and are at the same time perfectly balanced, placement of everything in shot is always flawless...just incredible.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back - Nothing new here of course, except that I watched the "Revisited" fan edit...which is largely a case of one fan going through the entire film frame-by-frame to tidy up the picture and do the colour-correction work that Lucasfilm has been halfassing ever since the initial DVD release way back in 2004. Plus cleanup/replacement of small VFX things (like laser blasts), and a few other subtle things as well. Really is amazing what dedicated fans can do.
Cape Fear (1962) - I've seen the newer one (ages ago, will probably rewatch it soon), but this is actually the first time I've seen the original. Gregory Peck! Robert Mitchum! Telly Savalas! Really terrific stalker suspense film, not at all dragged down by its age. Tension so thick you could cut through it with a knife.

Mad Max 2 / The Road Warrior - I didn't think I'd seen this before, but as I watched it, realized that I had. Watching in 2021, I was somewhat less than impressed--at this point, it feels like a very primitive beta version of Fury Road.
Batman: The Long Halloween - Both parts. Yeesh, this was terrible. I had wondered how on Earth they were going to adapt a story that was deliberately designed to be serialized into individual issues....and they just did such a poor job of it. Very poor adaptation of an excellent comic.
