Dune - Looked great and, of course, flowed better than the original. Whilst I will say that, yes, I did drift off in a couple of places (due to not going to bed last night until about 4.30), overall, I enjoyed it pleasantly, and am certainly looking forward to seeing part 2 when it comes out in a couple of years time!
The Boss Baby; Family Business - Don't look at me like that, I saw it for free with my Cineworld membership! Can't say that I've seen the original, but, whilst (of course) not the best animated film I've seen this year, it waaaaas alright, I guess? I'm happy to have seen it (despite a slight headache from where a kid decided to kick a football into the back of my head 5-odd minutes going in), but am in no real hurry to see it again anytime soon...

Dune - I didn’t adore this, but had a great time watching. I think I found it quite dense in places, especially trying to remember and understand the different names. I had the same issue with Lord of the Rings and all it needs is for me to spend more time in the world and comprehend it more; I’m chuffed for everyone involved that a sequel has been greenlit. It’s clearly a labour of love, with some cracking visuals, performances and a terrific score.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage - Fun watch, doesn’t overstay its welcome and I felt it improved on the previous film. The mid credits scene and its connotations is certainly the highlight.
Last Night in Soho - Now this I adored! Fun opening act, gorgeous visuals and such strong performances from Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor Joy and the much missed Diana Rigg. Our very own Matt Smith puts in a good turn too. I loved the genre mashup, going from fairy tale to thriller to outright psychological horror, though I’d be interested to see what others think to it, as it’s quite sudden in the grand scheme of things. It’s also not quite what the trailer implies, but I think the TV spots more accurately portray what it’s like.

Space Jam: A New Legacy Surprisingly great; A fun, updated and improved redux of the first film. Yeah it's basically a big Warner Brother's Ad, but it's jam packed with creative visuals and sequences. And they kept a lot of the current voice actors rather than replacing them with celebrities, which is a big plus.

Been plugging classic horror gaps today, in the spirit of the season. Saw Chaney Phantom (1929), Werewolf of London and Wolfman '41. First and last were great, but man, I really wanted Werewolf to be an overlooked gem, and it's just not. Problem is that's it's a patchwork of the first four monster films, a mix of Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy and Invisible Man.

Dirty Dancing Now one of my favourite movies. The original '87 version?
It was a HUGE movie here in Oz. The soundtrack was top of the charts forever.

That's right! Don't think I'll bother with the sequel or the remake.

Last night I had the original 'Scream' playing in the background as I did other things, which I enjoyed as-ever.
This evening I watched 'Trust' (1990), 'in memory' of Adrienne Shelly who passed away 15yrs ago today. It's been a long while since I saw this last, and yeah, I can see why one of my tutors from university had such a soft-spot for it...

Chinese Boxer Blu ray arrived starring Jimmy Wang Yu who's life could be a movie in itself.
Great kung fu flick from 1970, 88 Films have done another stunning restoration.

11/03 - Movie day with a friend who was feeling shitty - Iron Man 2 - Thor - Captain America: The First Avengers
Today...I just got home from seeing Eternals. Review bombers are a bunch of pathetic losers -- I really enjoyed it. Will admit that I thought it dragged a little in the middle, but then it picked back up again and I was invested all over again. Looking forward to seeing it again once it lands on D+.

This afternoon I saw 'Eternals' on its' day-of-release and, I have to say, that it was actually alright, I guess? Obviously it could maybe have done with been a smidgeon shorter, but I didn't mind the runtime that much...? I've seen better Marvel films, and, well, I wouldn't neccessarily call any of them 'bad' or anything, but "there are others that I'd prioritise a rewatch of", let's phrase it that way.... Also, {Spoiler} HARRY F--KING STYLES?!?!

Either I’m old, still a bit too poorly or just over the cinema……… Give me a remote n a pause button any day over the big screen n germs…..lol
