The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents (2022) S'alright. Not the best or the worst depiction of the Discworld we've seen. You know, I think the inherent problem is (and this is coming from someone who quite liked the Sky movies back in the day) that there has never been a definitive adaptation of Terry Pratchett's works. Pratchett don’t work on film/tv the humour don’t translate….a good pun or slight parody has you chuckling in your head but transfer it literally to film and it just gets lost…… the thing that makes him great as an author is the thing that holds adaptations back…… All about finding a healthy balance, I suppose. That’s why I think the Sky films from a few years were at least half decent at capturing that old Pratchett Magic. Probably helps that he was involved with them.

Last Christmas (2019)
Not as bad as its reputation suggests and Emilia Clarke is very charming.
But it’s still pretty poor and the George Michael songs scattered throughout are forced at best.

The Mitchells Vs the Machines (2021)
Animation is gorgeous. But I’m afraid the humour really didn’t do anything for me. Found it more annoying if anything.

The Visitor (2022) www.imdb.com/title/tt15558152/I liked it better under it's original title "Rosemary's Baby", they just swapped the sex of the protagonist... Good for 1 viewing, not bad per se, just good for 1 viewing.

Tonight I watched 'Lamb', which is an Icelandic film, but has gained a lot of critical acclaim everywhere. Has anyone seen this?
I found it funny, horrific, brutal, gorgeous, tragic and thoroughly compelling.
The oddest thing I've seen in a long time.

Edward Scissorhands (1990)
I must admit I don’t really like Tim Burton’s work as much as I used to. To be honest, I find a lot of his more contemporary work lacking in both imagination and direction.
But this one continues to hold up. No doubt helped by the fact it’s such a personal story.
