If she'd fire Hunt then I'd like her a bit more. (That's relative of course.)

By all accounts she did have someone in mind for health but after Crabb wouldn't work with her had the reshuffle. Who knows the truth - the spin doctors will be out en masse right now for all sides so we don't know the whys and wherefores just yet.
I think it's worth bearing in mind that as foreign secretary, a lot of the job was working with the EU states. That portfolio now falls under David Davies' Brexit brief so there's a case to be made, theoretically for now, that the job Boris has now isn't what the office used to be (all of 24 hours ago before Brexit became its own brief!) It's a bone for the leavers if nothing else.
The safest man in politics must be David Mundell, the Scottish Secretary. As the Tories only Scottish MP he's pretty much the only person for the job.

It's also worth noting that John Whittingdale has been sacked from Culture. Might not seem news to some but he was the one leading the attacks on the BBC and making noises about forcing them to drop expensive shows (read: Doctor Who) in favour of being news-based. He was never going to get away with it but here's hoping Karen Bradley, his replacement, shows more love for Auntie.

Currently doing the rounds is the Irish word Sasamach, meaning Brexit ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif) Though really that's just England. My friend Blue coined the word Bréalú instead, since that includes Wales as well. Both of those are usable in Scots gaelic I believe.

He is by all accounts a charming person who speaks about five languages. He did a very good job promoting London around the world. Writing a newspaper column brought out a different side to him, but I think he'll change now. Well, I hope he does.

and of course, the SNP do not want Scotland to be governed in London favouring English interests, they want it to be governed from Brussels favouring German interests the end of one of my posts from 3 weeks ago I wish to clarify that the last comment at the end was intended to be tongue in cheek and was deliberately oversimplified - posted in a hurry due to limitations concerning my time accessing the internet (I don't have a connection at home and am not allowed to post from work). With hindsight I should have probably not posted it or made it more obviously not intended to be entirely serious. (In fact I should have been on the BF site getting the Dorian Christmas special) I do wonder how much the calls for Scottish Independence was based on anti-English prejudice? (which does exist) or on pride inflated by Hollywood fantasies? (is one place in Scotland really honouring it's history with a statue of Mel Gibson?) or dissatisfaction due to having a minority vote in election due to having a smaller population? (which usually results in getting a Conservative government rather than a Labour Government (doing the same things the Covservatives do)) or general dissatisfaction with the state of politics in the UK? (which is also felt in England and is a major reason for the Brexit vote - opportunities for the British public to truly voice their dissatisfaction are too rare) Personally, I felt Nicola Sturgeon spoke well in the run-up to the election and I may have been tempted to vote for the SNP if they had a candidate standing in the East of England and if the wanted to reform the UK rather than moan and leave (though I accept that reform and setting up candidates across the UK are easier said than done) While the EEC which the UK joined in the 70s was focussed on trading that was always just the first stage of the plan with intentions to move towards greater unity though it is not clear if a final position to aim for has been decided yet. The EU seems to be too eagerly pushing towards unity breaking their safety rules to get countries into the Euro and, as a result of the problems of currency union without political union they are now in a mess and trying to decide whether they need to kick out Greece, revert to their own currencies or go for increased "Federalisation"

If Peladon cosmes back, then I hope we get the usual types of characters. A high priest who wants to leave the Galactic Federation, a chancellor who wants to stay, a monarch who doesn't know what to do, and Alpha Centauri. Also: they need a Boris Johnson cameo. He can just come in on his bike. shout 'BREXIT!' then leave in a hurry when it all goes pear-shaped. I really hope that you are joking... Also, that wasn't exactly how it went in the first place... It isn't black and white at all. The whole Brexit debate is interesting, but a lot of people do seem to claim that the only reason Brexit happened was due to xenophobia, which it evidently wasn't...

As an American, I can tell you that people will vote for an idiot. Even if that idiot is racist, misogynistic, and a sexual predator. Yeah, but then again you Americans don't really have a choice. Besides, you only have word to go on that Trump is a sexual predator and he could have just been boasting the once. Furthermore, yes he is an idiot and yes he is probably vaguely racist. However, Hilary Clinton is incredibly crooked, failed the Americans and, just to top it all off, has entered potentially illegal activity and never been properly searched for it. Also, before you say, that I didn't hear that in the news, it's because it wasn't since the media is highly bias towards Clinton. Look, I'm just pointing out that they would both be bad leaders and are arguably the most unpopular leading candidates in American history.

No, I'd have to disagree with the fact we were given a pack of lies. Key word being pack. Yes, we were told lies, but those lies weren't relevant. The relevant ones weren't actually lies. There's a reason people voted leave and aren't saying they regret. If you can't accept democracy, then that's got nothing to do with me. And also I can understand why somebody would vote remain, too. Fair enough. There are points for both sides.
