There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I still think this might be the greatest title I've ever heard.

I had a bit of trouble with this one, to be honest. To be perfectly clear, I cannot point to anything that it did wrong, so it's definitely not that there was anything that put me off (and I'm absolutely not calling out Guy Adams's script). I just found it really hard to stay engaged, particularly after the story evolved from straight-historical to 'space monster computer that has a medical story and sounds exactly like Viyrans but they aren't Viyrans, really.'
Not sure.

That was an excellent pseudo-historical with a nice dose of human drama.
Bonnie Langford and Sophie Aldred give great performances with very good support the other cast particularly Enzo Squillino Jnr, he and Langford sizzle.
The threat is a bit Who by numbers (but not a bad thing when the historical/human elements are so very well executed) Another strong Range debut from Guy Adams.

That was an excellent pseudo-historical with a nice dose of human drama. Agreed, I think it made a very effective combination here. Also, it made this seem to me rather like a First Doctor story starring the Seventh Doctor, an effect I thoroughly enjoyed. Very good performances all around, too. Well done!

Another story I enjoyed and nice to have some more character development for Mel. I'm always worried when two separate companions become part of one Tardis team, but it works really well here. guyadams has written another winner . Cheers Tony

Unlike last month's 'Life of Crime', which I thought started off well and then became a bit of a chore, 'Fiesta of the Damned' is great all the way through. I love the dialogue, the setting (and very convincing audio soundscape) and thought the characters of Ace and Mel are much better realised. The threat is unusual and creepy and The Doctor's reaction to the various situations is typically idiosyncratic of the unpredictable Seventh Doctor - excellent. Really enjoyed this.

I liked it...it had strong guest characters but I did enjoy the historical aspect more so than the alien threat. I know not every story can be a straight historical but I personally would have enjoyed that more.
Also I kind of wish there was more Mel/Ace interaction, maybe in the next story. It will be interesting to see whether the next will be the last for this Tardis team or if they will continue on for another trilogy.
I should say while I did want more Mel/Ace scenes I did enjoy both Mel & Ace's scenes with Juan Romero & the British reporter, again two very strongly realized guest characters. And it was the scenes of these characters talking together that I enjoyed most of all in this story.

Highly enjoyable. I felt the setting was very well realized and there were a lot of good character moments throughout the story. I'm really enjoying Seven/Ace/Mel.

Mel's return is a big jumping point for new and a casual customers. As much as I love the historicals, there not what Doctor Who is known for, particularly for viewers of Seven's era. It's something Big Finish could do somewhere the line with this pairing, though.
I think keeping them apart is part of the arc, though. Mel doesn't quite reliase how far Seven and Ace are ready to go or knows about his mile-wide manipulative streak yet.

I enjoyed it, but I had a problem with the Doctor's solution at the end. He uses the alien holographic machine to make the village look like the caves and vice versa. Isn't the holographic machine in the caves? Therefore as soon as the first bombs fall, the images change and the village is unprotected. If they are making a second sweep they'd see the village in the proper position.
Did I miss something or did the writer?
