Is it just me, or was this bumped from Sept to Oct? (It's certainly possible I'm confusing two different releases) No it was always meant for October but Charile Pollard S2 was bumped from I think May and Graceless was bumped from Sept to Jan 2017

Some pre-release thoughts: I'm looking forward to this a lot. I didn't really enjoy Doom Coalition 2 (and I think a lot of my complaints about it and Doom Coalition in general will still apply to this set), but I remain optimistic. Two of my favourite writers, my favourite Doctor and a very interesting synopsis... I'd be surprised if it's not at least decent.

I'm looking forward to this - more Eight is definitely good. But I felt a little disappointed by DC2, not that there was anything majorly bad about it, but it was just very average Who, and I didn't think there were any real stand-outs in it. The premise to this one sounds interesting, and the synopses for the individual episodes have me excited, so I'm cautiously optimistic about DC3.

I'm really looking forward to hearing this after recently running myself out of unheard 8th Doctor audios, even though I will end up right back in the same situation by this time Friday most likely. I rather liked Doom Coalition 2, although I had bumpy starts with both 1 & 2. I thought the first set was somehow poorly served by the trailer and almost skipped it, although I really liked it when I heard it. Then I got interrupted so many times starting DC2 that I think I started to dread sitting down to listen for expecting more interruptions. Actually getting to hear the second volume greatly improved my opinion of it too. :-)

Just putting it out there - I reckon the regeneration at the end of the trailer is the birth of The Twelve

One of the biggest parts of the Doom Coalition promotional stuff was the The Eleven and his plans. What's the point/big deal about him if he isn't even in it?

What's the point/big deal about him if he isn't even in it? And Dark Eyes 1 was all about Molly and the Daleks, but Dark Eyes 3 didn't have Molly, and Dark Eyes 4 didn't have Ruth Bradley. Thanks to the Sonomancer, we know that whatever the Doom Coalition is is made up of more than just the Eleven. We'll probably meet some new bad guys who will team up with the Eleven and the Sonomancer. We might even meet the Twelve or one of the first Ten.

The thing is though, they can't start adding that many more people/beings to the Doom Coalition - they're running out of their 16 episodes. And it wouldn't make a lot of sense for the Coalition to only actually form in Doom Coalition 4, especially since we only have two members so far (that is, if the Doom Coalition is actually The Eleven/the Sonomancer - it could be something else that we/I haven't considered). By the way, Molly was in Dark Eyes 3, but the Daleks weren't. Though I take your point

But Doom Coalition is different from Dark Eyes because the arc of every box set was planned from the beginning, right? So there is less excuse for not giving tight arcs (and important characters suddenly not being important). Also Mark Bonnar plays every incarnation of The Eleven in the first two box sets. If we were going to meet an incarnation of The Eleven not played by Mark Bonnar surely earlier incarnations would have been played by different actors in the first two box sets?

He only "plays" the earlier incarnations because they're all in his mind and all share the same body, hence same larynx, hence same voice when they take control of the body and speak They would have all looked/sounded different each time he regenerated

Just putting it out there - I reckon the regeneration at the end of the trailer is the birth of The Twelve One of the Time Lords from the first story in Doom Coalition 1 is in the cast list for Doom Coalition 3, so it could be him regenerating (into a her perhaps?). Robert Bathurst as Padrac.
