When I press "Track End" it tells me it will stop at the end of the entire audio (about 2 hours), but when I press "Chapter End" it counts down to the end of the 25 min episode. Is there supposed to be a timer for the actual track only?

Track means the actual file. So at the end of the file it should stop. Chapter will end at the actual embedded chapter.

Annoyingly though, it doesn't remember where you got to. When you go back into the title it goes back to either the start of the period of play under slep timer or the position where you last paused playback if you paused while the timer was on. Expected behavior: If you select track end and reach the end of the track, it should stop playback and set the bookmark position to the beginning of the track. If you select chapter end and reach the end of the current embedded chapter, it should stop playback but leave the bookmark position at the end of that chapter. (If it is the last chapter, it should set bookmark time to beginning.) If you select add five or ten minutes, it should stop the track and save the position. Is it behaving differently than this?

Yeah, it's not bookmarking at the end of playback. Not for chapter end or title end anyway. I haven't tried the 5 or 10 mins options because I don't want to lose my place mid-episode.

Thanks for finding this. It did it for me on the 5/10 min options. I'll look into fixing this. It looks like other audio players just pause playback instead of stopping. I'll look into doing that too.

got to admit, I'm not a fan of build 21. The UI seems really ugly compared to build 20, and whereas build 20 gave a countdown of how long was left on the timer, build 21 doesn't

Also the background colour algorithm is definitely a bit weird. The Vienna title posted above came out OK, but Death Match not so much so. Overall though it's progressing really well and I really appreciate the effort you're putting into getting this right.

The sleep timer should always display a countdown. If you don't see it, must be a bug. I haven't been happy with the sleep timer UI in 19, 20, or 21. I think I may have hit on the right look for the next version... Here's some shady screenshots Kudos to my brother in law suggesting that dialogs use the accent color (play/pause button color) for their title bars!

Build 22 -------- Sleep timer working across versions 5.1.1. and 6.0.1 - pauses correctly and remembers position. Feature request - In the Android Notification bar, the app has play/pause/forward/back controls. Would it be possible to open the app from here as well? Attachment DeletedCheers Tony

That was literally the next thing I was working on ------Update------ Build 22 Tapping the notification now opens the app. Please keep testing the sleep timer.

Tapping the notification to open the app is really helpful and works well.
Sleep timer now seems very robust, I've completely failed to break it today.

Do you think the UI is good?

Agreed, opening the app from the notification is great and works well (across all my devices). Thanks for doing it so quickly . Sleep UI seems fine and is functional, not sure if it needs anything else. One question though, if sleep is set for track end shouldn't the app close when it finishes? At the moment it just ends the track and leaves the app open. I can understand pausing the track (and leaving app open) if set for 5 or 10 mins. But think it would make more sense if app closes after track end (with sleep on), especially as you can only pick one track to play at a time. It would be a different matter if you had tracks in a playlist (for example), then I would say pause playback at the end of "current" track. Cheers Tony EDIT : This is the sleep button SmartAudioBook Player uses. It "may" be a bit more obvious as to its function than yours (for new users) Attachment DeletedFeature Request - Desktop Widget to save having to load app to start playback. Here is a selection of widgets on my Samsung (Top-SmartAudioBook Player, next-Google Play Music, next-Amazon MP3, next-Samsung Music App), in case it helps

Are you saying that it pauses the track if it is the last one? If it is the last track, I would expect it to stop instead of pause.

It doesn't pause (as such) because the track has finished, but the app stays open and is still active. It may be because I had the app full screen and when the track finished I expected the app to close and go back to the desktop (but that could just be me).
Not sure if that makes any sense...
Cheers

I think it stops if you play to track end, just keeps the track open.

Let's say you have 2 tracks in an album. If you're playing track 1 and select track end, it should load the next track but pause it. If you're playing track 2 and select track end, it will try to go to the next track, but because it can't find one it will stop. The app goes back to the library screen and the notification goes away.
Already, that's what I want it to do...

New build does all the things on the release notes. No weird metadata, it all looks fine.
