Same here no strange metadata issues. As for sleep, at end of track it definitely doesn't go back to the library screen on any of my devices. It either moves to the next track (if there is one), or stays on the finished track.
Cheers

Okay, I'll look into the sleep timer issue.

Pretty sure the initial slow load times is caused by inefficient handling of embedded artwork. I think I'm going to try switching to the Glide library (officially recommended by Google) github.com/bumptech/glide. instead of UniversalImageLoader (no longer maintained) and follow the Google's Android Universal Music Player's example of asynchronously loading the art as needed. This example Glide module should do the trick. github.com/bumptech/glide/issues/699

Build 25 -------- Tested Android 5.1.1, 6.0.1 Sleep timer works as expected across all devices using "track end". If app is left open and no further track available, it now returns to the library list and app stays open. If an additional track is available it switches to the next track but does not start playing. If the app is closed when the last track finishes, the app disappears from the notification bar (i.e. closes) - all seems fine to me Cheers Tony

Build 26 -------- Android v5.1.1 - Can no longer remove app from notification bar after track has been paused. Had to go into Apps Manager and Force Stop the app Android v6.0.1 - Seems to work ok Cheers Tony

On build 26, when I got to track end with screen locked, the player moved to the next track and didn't pause until the 5 seconds mode.

Can dismiss notification no problems whether phone locked or not. Interestingly if I come out of the app when the sleep timer has finished, the app doesn't transfer to notifications, not sure if that's expected behaviour. if I come out when play is manually paused, it does transfer to notifications.

Build 26 -------- Android v5.1.1 - Can no longer remove app from notification bar after track has been paused. Had to go into Apps Manager and Force Stop the app Android v6.0.1 - Seems to work ok Cheers Tony I don't have that issue on 4.4 Further investigation. It happens if I remove the app from the (running/switch to) app list. Will try to list steps: Working- 1. Load App 2. Start track playing 3. Exit App (either using back menu arrow or closing to desktop-hide app) - track continues to play ok and app in notification bar. Unable to remove from notification bar when track playing (as expected) 4. Pause track, can remove app from notification bar. Not Working- 1. Load App 2. Start track playing 3. Exit App (either using back menu arrow or closing to desktop-hide app) - track continues to play ok and app in notification bar. Unable to remove from notification bar when track playing (as expected) 4. Close App from "Switch to" menu (Square button on 5.1.1/6.0.1) - track continues to play and app in notification menu 5. Pause track - app disappears from notification bar and track stops 6. App returns immediately to notification bar, track does not play, app cannot be swiped away from notification bar and has to be manually closed from apps manager (settings, apps, force close) So the issue appears to be when the apps is exited using to "switch to" button. I cannot replicate this on Android version 6.0.1, everything closes as expected. Cheers Tony

On build 26, when I got to track end with screen locked, the player moved to the next track and didn't pause until the 5 seconds mode. That didn't happen on 6.0.1 lol. (works as expected). Will try to test on 5.1.1 if I can get enough space back for a multi-track release Cheers Tony EDIT: It happens on v5.1.1 too - using sleep timer "Track End" on multi-track release runs into next track before stopping.

I can't get it to happen on my phone. The behavior your describing is what I was trying to fix. But my test device is running 6.0
I'll try on the fire tablet...

When I try it on my Fire tablet. Pausing the notification makes it go away immediatley, but it still does not return in the weird "phantom" mode.

The built-in Audible app works similarly.

That's certainly what I found on version 5.1.1 Strange, I'll have another go and see if I can replicate it again Cheers Tony I think the Fire Tablet is so resource hungry that it kills the service as soon as it becomes not necessary to keep it in memory. The built-in Audible app works similarly. I've had a further play and the notification definitely comes back but had disappeared after the phone screen came back on (from sleep). I've managed to screen shot it for you: After closing app - track still playing Attachment Deleted After pausing tack - disappears from notification and then comes back (timer counting up, but track not playing) Attachment DeletedAs I said, it does disappear eventually (if I turn the screen off), so it does seem to be some residual process that's hanging around for a bit. I definitely can't replicate it on 6.0.1 so something is different in 5.1.1 Hope that helps somewhat. Tony

Can you do me a favor? Can you uninstall the app from your 5.1.1 device and reinstall build (26)? I know what is causing this and it just seems like you don't have the updated code.

Got a friend to test with 6.0.1 and he had no issues with the notification. I have confirmed the ghost notification on my 5.1.1 tablet.
