I'm really looking forward to this! Love the cover art and I'm especially excited for David Llewellyn's story!

Well that was a disappointing tease on Neve McIntosh's other Big Finish role. I was expecting it to be her reprising her role as Madame Vastra...but no, she's just playing some Dalek agent called Lara.

More importantly, HONEYSUCKLE WEEKS! Gorgeous woman.
A random thought bubbles to the surface - in Boxset 1, the Doctor comments that taking direct control of his TARDIS took power from Gsllifrey's temporal defences, it was assumed that was okay because the Doctor has just Time Destructored the Dalek Time fleet. What if they did manage to send an agent back into the deep past. Someone who intimate knowledge of the Daleks, so they'd naturally rise to prominence during the War.... Someone like Cardinal Ollystra.

Really good to have Neve playing a different character for Big Finish (and yes, HONEYSUCKLE WEEKS certainly deserves 'caps lock' status: she's wonderful). Neve is a fine actress, certainly more than capable of being brilliant in roles other than Madame Vastra.

I'm thrilled they've decided to send The War Doctor to Earth. I've been hoping for some earthbound stories.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the events of the timewar 'locked' by the time of Hurt's War Doctor, preventing him from leaving the conflict?
This boxset sounds great, but I was rather hoping the War Doctor would be kept off earth...

No, I think they were locked at the end of the war, preventing nine and ten from intervening into the war, but the lock was dismantled in The End of Time, meaning Eleven could intervene in the Time War (and Ten could as he was out of his own timeline and followed Eleven in). This is why in RTD Who Daleks and Time Lords don't exist to the universe at large, but in Moffat Who they do.

So how soon do you think we might be getting confirmation/news on possible Volumes 5-8? Hurt seems to have enjoyed himself doing the audios, and by all accounts the first two boxsets were widely acclaimed (certainly amongst the best BF stories I've heard) and very popular with listners...here's hoping they find a way to work in Jacobi's Master...

Neat that the Sontarans are playing a role in this set. I really like the cover art, too. Crossing my fingers for more sets beyond the fourth one!

For a race banned from taking part in the time war they're getting two stories, I was hoping for a Cyber special with it being their fiftieth this year. Where are the Cybermen in this war?

Without having any knowledge of how they're going to be involved, my thought is that if you ban someone from coming into a store or a club it doesn't mean they aren't still at the door trying to get in. There could be an interesting story there and the longer the War Doctor goes the more need to involve more than just Daleks and Time Lords so that things can stay fresh. I'm hoping for Cybermen, too. If they get John Hurt for more stories then I'd bank on a Cyberman heavy set.

This is fantastic that Neve is going to be in another Big Finish audio, but it does almost seem a wee bit cruel to have Neve and Dan in the same audio and no Paternostery. I shall continue to hope for a third role for Neve and that somewhere about the time the Tenth Doctor Adventures comes out when everyone's looking would be a good time to announce it (hint, hint). I'm sure that's asking an awful lot, but they did get John Hurt so I do have every right to be spoiled like that. :-)

And given how how the ninth Doctor eulogises over a Cyber-head in Dalek, on whose side do they fight? fodder for War volume 4?

I like the idea of The War Doctor on Earth, and of him meeting the Sontarans. If someone had told me a few years ago that John Hurt - a true legend - would be playing The Doctor for Big Finish (or anywhere), I would not have believed we fans could be so lucky.
And the idea of The Cybermen and the part they play in the Time War is very intriguing ... I hope something comes of this.
