Interesting to see that bundles will still be available at the old price:
On a personal note, I'm not surprised they are changing part of the pre-order policy as many people will wait until the day (or month) of release and still pay the pre-order price. I do myself on occasion but I do think they should have announced it on the website before anywhere else. Maybe it slipped through the net...
It will make me think twice about committing so far in advance to some ranges though. Very disappointed that the Omega Factor is being put back a year (I preordered on the day it went up) and of course I have to decide quickly whether I think the Churchill will be worth it (or worth the extra cost). It might only be a few pounds here and there, but with the amount of stuff BF release, it will make a difference to people priorities.
Cheers
Tony

"Please note that the CD pricing on bundles including these titles will remain unchanged."
So if you buy the bundle its still £60. So get the Paul McGann boxset if you dont want to pay the £3 extra

Given that it seems only CD prices are affected is everyone sure it is about giving people who preorder several months in advance more of a discount? Could it be extra costs in the productions of CDs?

Individual Pre order Prices for:
Diray of River Song vol 2
The Churchill Years vol 2
Classic Doctors New Monsters vol2
8th Doctor Time War
are increasing in Pre-Order price to £23 each from September 1st.
The Bundle Price for the 3 Vol 2 Boxsets together is staying at £60 though

Would a Mod care to merge this with Whovits Pre-Order Price Thread ?

to me this looks like the manufacturing plant are raising the the prices (probably as a result of the falling pound) and they just cannot afford to absorb the prices.

Also, what do people think about the bundle of three of these remaining the same price affect this / your thoughts?
If I was trying to increase prices to give people who preordered well in advance an extra discount I would probably make the bundle the higher preorder price of £23*3=£69.
Big Finish usually keeps the bundles the same price so you effectively get the preorder price by buying the bundle. This makes it seem unfair if you get the "early-bird" preorder price on top of that simply by buying three at once, even months after release.

I don't know it makes sense not to increase the bundle price because it would give people more of an incentive to buy all at once. I know I usually don't because while putting 20 down early is not a big deal. Putting 80 down is something else. So while I will preorder all 4 eventually, I dont preorder all 4 right away.
Anyways I think making bundles cheaper in general than buying each title individually would make bundles more inviting and would make me second guess the way I purchase Big Finish now.

Incidentally, i't's been confirmed on the Facebook page that this isn't the start of a new system where earlier pre-orders get a bigger discount. They've just found it necessary to adjust a few prices.

I think I must be the only person who isn't really troubled by this announcement. For one, I find that there has been more advance notice of the price increase than many businesses give. Big Finish is giving over two weeks notice which I think is more than fair. If you take coffee shops as an example, when Starbucks raises prices we are lucky to get even one day notice of a price increase. They certainly don't email their customers or push a heads up through their app to let us know.
I'm not trying to say that BF and a coffee shop are the same, or that the price increase of one is any more or less significant, what I am saying is that we were given notice - and in more than one way. Perhaps it would have been better to have seen it posted on the website prior to the podcast going out, and hopefully the next time a price change is implemented it will be announced to customers in a more acceptable fashion.
That said, price increases suck - I fully understand that this will lead to many of us having to be even more selective of the releases we buy and perhaps make sales that much more a part of how we fill holes in our collections.
On the subject of the Omega Factor - it would have been nice had BF make an announcement that it was being pushed back, be it due to cast availability, script delays or poltergeists, rather than quietly shifting it off this years schedule. Lack of information leads to speculation which is often wrong and can damage the relationship between BF and fans.

The Omega Factor release might not have been pushed back at all. I'm in it, and I haven't a clue! If the cast and crew aren't aware where things stand it isn't surprising that the rest of us are confused as to what is going on.
Hopefully some clarification will be forthcoming - if not for us, than at least for you and the rest of those involved in the production.

To clarify - I'm literally just saying that I've not heard anything about it being pushed back. It might have been, it's not something I especially need to know. But I know pretty much everything else - recording dates, writers, etc. There's no real confusion for me or anyone else involved!

If/when you do hear something about whether it has been pushed back we'd greatly appreciate it if you could pass that along to us. Provided something hasn't been mentioned on the website first.

Will do. Though it's probably worthwhile asking on the FB page or on the Twitter as that will probably be quicker.
