I'm confused. Why is the number of discs 4 but the product format is a 5-disc CD (slipcase box set)? Says 4 disk, 4 disk slipcase on the website. The mistake has been corrected. I'm disappointed as I like behind the scenes material, and hope the first 12 Torchwood Stories under-represent what will be included.

They may be doing like they do on Sherlock where there are extras at the end of each disk liked to that particular story.

True, but the extras in the first 12 Torchwood Stories have generally been about 5 minutes, when about 15 could fit on the disc.

This release sounds really neat and I'll be picking it up for sure. They had me at Jack & Jackie already, actually . . .
I wonder if this will be an ongoing series. It's a great opportunity to explore some of the Who sides of Jack that might not be explored in Torchwood releases.

Dammit, BF... After this and the rest of the releases from this week, you're totally making me bankrupt. Not that I'm too upset about it - I'm looking forward to every single one of these releases!

It's listed in the Torchwood section of the site. Under the "Lives of Captain Jack" sub-range (from which we can infer that this is just volume 1!) But it's not listed as volume 1. What can we infer about that? Big Finish is confident enough to give it its own range but not confident enough to list it as volume 1. Maybe the new range is just because placing it is tricky. It has got Jack, so it's a Torchwood (or Doctor Who?) release, but that is its only link to Torchwood / Doctor Who. A similar dilemma to the Charlotte Pollard range.

New Monsters, Churchill Years, and Diary of River Song were also not listed as Series/Volume 1 when first announced, but they were changed as such prior to release. I would be very much surprised if we don't get at least another box out of this range, similar to how we're getting another Churchill Years.

I just noticed that the image Barrowman tweeted has "From the Worlds of Doctor Who" on it but the cover posted on the release page does not.

I just noticed that the image Barrowman tweeted has "From the Worlds of Doctor Who" on it but the cover posted on the release page does not. Depends where on the site you look. It is marked as such if you pull up the listing under the New Series page. looks like BF updated the photo as it now has the "From the Worlds" mark everywhere it shows up on the site.

I need my student loan to come in ASAP so I can pre-order all this stuff.
I'm bloody excited. Big Finish has turned the inability to get all the Torchwood cast simultaneously into a vast well of opportunity, and we, the listeners, are the real winners as a result.

Alright now I probably won't get to this one in a while (I'm not the biggest fan of Torchwood in general I only really only liked Series 2 and 3 and I'm trying to budget money to finish the Classic DVD Collection) but it's so interesting to see Christel Dee in the credits as acting as well as Benji Clifford doing sound design on other releases considering their work for the 5WF and some fan audios with Christel being a companion and Benji being one of the Doctors (the Tom Baker parody).

The blurb only says that the planet has been ravaged by Daleks, not that they're the enemy. Hmmmmm, ok

Some people make goal signs with their arms when they watch sports, I make mine when I go to the BF website.
I'm so excited for this. I don't care where it's placed, I don't care that it doesn't say "Volume 1". I'm just happy to have this. And there's Jack as an actual Time Agent! But.....his name wasn't Jack Harkness then. Hmm. And maybe now we can get a closer to getting the story of those 2 years that the Agency stole from him.
I have given BF way too much money this week.

This reminds me of the early days of BF, when they didn't have all the Doctors, and we saw stuff like Bernice Summerfield, Gallifrey, UNIT, the Sarah Jane spinoff, Dalek Empire, etc, and such popping up all over the place in an effort to make use of the actors and characters they had available to them. It's great to see that sort of energy and creativity popping up with the New Series releases. At this rate, it looks like Torchwood & Jack might be the New Series equivalent of Benny, a former companion who gets more regular releases than the "main" Doctor Who stuff, alongside the other less frequently releasing spinoffs and side stories. Good stuff. Good times.

Is this going to be a full cast audio or is it going to be more like a companion chronicle?

Is this going to be a full cast audio or is it going to be more like a companion chronicle? Well you were there weren't you Captain Jack. But it's definitely full cast. Look at the cast list!
