If I'm correct it hasn't been stated is it? She said on Inteevention Earth that she didn't remember how she ended up working with the CIA and in the "season 27" audios she refused to go to Gallifrey I would like to hear the story of how she ended being a CIA agent In Lungbarrow, she was abducted from a time storm when fleeing a policeman in France to be questioned by Romana about the Doctor. However, the beam is intercepted by the Celestial Intervention Agency and Ace is shot, killed and has her mind uploaded into the Matrix where she's questioned by a virtual copy of her younger self.

That doesn't really answer the question of how she ended up on Gallifrey, though.

Trying not to spoil too much, her timecycle is used to get into the buried House of Lungbarrow. She basically got caught up in what turned out to be a coup against Romana that leaves the CIA in control.

But not sure if that's actually how she ends up on Gallifrey as far as the later stories where she's there. There's still some gaps as far as that goes.

Well, there is room at the end of Lungbarrow for her to have stayed and attended the Academy leading into The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield. That said, @nesta is right. Outside of an implied connection, we've yet to see anything indisputably concrete in terms of Ace leaving the Academy and joining the CIA.

I know several times in the last few months there have been Listener Questions on the BF Podcast inquiring whether they'll do a story where Ace leaves the Doctor/goes to Gallifrey. Nick Briggs' answer each time has been that they have no plans to do so.

Waitaminute. Lungbarrow is part of BF continuity now? When did that happen?

DW continuity has always been pretty open to interpretation, so maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
For my part, I don't count books or comics in my own 'head canon,' but the reverse is just as valid an opinion.

I think if you start factoring in the NA books, the MA books, the BBC books and the comic strips it becomes a nightmare. I mean it is kind of a nightmare between the TV series and the audios but it is at least a manageable one. So as far as I'm concerned Ace leaving the Doctor and making her way to Gallifrey is an untold story.

As with most treasured truths about the Doctor's origins, I think you're supposed to. Even for us Lungbarrow lovers, the first of two main sticking points -- the dream sequences -- are entirely open to interpretation as to whether or not there is a genuine connection between the Doctor and the Other. You could argue that the looms (being around since Time's Crucible and popping up at Benny's wedding in Happy Endings) are moot as well by the end of it because of Romana's politicking off-world. Let's not get into the whole birthing machine vs. natural conception argument though, we'll be here all year.

Tv plan was to have ace go to gallifrey in 1990 and be trained up to become a time lord
Yes I know.
But it fits with tv (intended) continueity. ..

Well the "Season 27" stuff is just to fit the lost stories in with what BF had already done with Ace in the future. But atm its an Untold story and if BF decide not to tell it, i would like Titan to tackle it
