Did anyone notice that Big Finish updated its FAQs? They did finally confirm the exact extent of their NuWho license. Funny that they did it quietly like this after months of speculation. www.bigfinish.com/pages/v/faqs

This has basically confirmed they will be making 10 and 11 audios at some point.

Interesting...license now spans up to the end of Matt Smith's run. 10/Donna and 11/Amy seem like likely future BF releases or ranges. What a coup it would be if they could talk Chris Eccleston though, eh?
I notice the forum part is the same BS excuse they gave when they shut them down.

They could have easily promoted moderators. I think Big finish wants to be seen as a more respectable company which is why the forum isnt there.

Wow. So they CAN use any new series Doctor apart from the 12th.
Has this year been designed to be the 'Year of the Whovian'?

Well, they've already got John Hurt. Christopher Eccleston is nearly a impossibility. I don't think he'll ever do any BF audios. David Tennant is a certainty. He'll do it even if he's too busy. Matt Smith is more hit and miss. He's not a Whovian like David Tennant so won't have the same level of commitment to Who if he's busy but he seemed to enjoy playing the part and I see no reason why he wouldn't if he had time to do it. Peter Capaldi after he has left the show is a certainty too for the same reason as David Tennant. That's two certainties out of four, one maybe and one near-impossible.

Honestly based on things Matt Smith has said I am sure he will do Big Finish. He really enjoyed the role (even said he kind of regret leaving) and no way does Big Finish have to be a full time commitment. I am sure they can work around his schedule.

David Richardson said back when the Nu-Who announcements started that having Docs 9-11 in the Churchill Diaries - even just in a CC fashion - was proof that BF could "do" Nu-Who Doctors and seemed a bit amused not many people picked up on it. You licence the characters, not the actors so this isn't "news" as such but it's lovely to be able to have it in black and white as it were. Makes perfect sense that the incumbent is off-limits - would be awkward if BF stepped on Cardiff's toes. I'd imagine once Doctor 13 is on screen in a few years Capaldi's era will open up. So no Missy at BF for a few years

Not a fan of missy. Im sure they will all do big finish eventually. When old chrissy boy becomes an out of work actor like tom baker he will come back because doctor who will always be there.

I don't think Chris Eccleston need worry. He's been one of the countries most pre-eminent actors on tv for nearly a quarter century now. I doubt the offers will dry up any decade soon

I think our best chance for Eccelston is when he gets older. When one ages, attitudes often soften. He may even become nostalgic about the role someday. Right now he's still young and running around doing lots of different roles appeals to him, but that may not always be the case.

I think one day Eccelston will come to regret not being in day of the doctor.

So a possibility for 9 CCs like Tom had for a while then? I could see that if 9 wasnt limited in companion choices.

I'm skeptical that what they wrote is a confirmatIon of anything regarding the new series beyond what has already been announced.

What they write in the FAQ is clear enough, it doesn't of course mean they will do anything beyond what is announced, althougth it would be strange if they didn't but the FAQ is clear, they can make use of Who events/characters/monsters at any point in Who history up until and including the eleventh Doctor, but nothing beyond.
I'm not sure how much clearer they could have said it.
