Pretty much what jason said. I expect we will get more nuwho announcements in the coming years.

What I really meant was that it wasn't an announcement that they'll be doing a Ten and Donna story, which has been going all over the web and has yet to be confirmed by Big Finish.
It was a pretty general statement, no new information offered.

What they write in the FAQ is clear enough, it doesn't of course mean they will do anything beyond what is announced, althougth it would be strange if they didn't but the FAQ is clear, they can make use of Who events/characters/monsters at any point in Who history up until and including the eleventh Doctor, but nothing beyond. I'm not sure how much clearer they could have said it. Exactly. If it's on screen before the regen into Capaldi...it's available to BF. So Matt's not on board but the 11th Doctor is in The Churchill Diaries anyway. Rights wise...it's the same deal. They don't licence for full cast or one handers - the BBC licence the properties not the cast. Only the actors (and BF's interest) are the sticking points for anything coming to audio now. Being skeptical that BF can't use Nu-Docs makes little sense when they're currently making a set (Churchill) with 3 of them in it and making 4 War Doctor sets. Again, David Richardson has said this on the old forum and on twitter when the Nu-Who announcements started. I don't know why it still causes any confusion - espcially with the FAQs being rather unambiguous on the issue.

So a possibility for 9 CCs like Tom had for a while then? I could see that if 9 wasnt limited in companion choices. Beyond Rose and Jack, I'd actually really like to see CCs for Jackie and Mickey and I bet BF could do a nice one with Rose's dad. Granted, it's still not a wide range of companions, but the characters are there. All that's needed is the will to come up with some good stories. BF has done some great work developing many of the classic companions and injecting them with new life.

I havent seen any 9 in a while so correct me if im wrong but i dont think mickey really traveled with the doctor (what i mean here is didnt really like him) until he was 10. Jackie would be a hilarious comedy adventure

Knowing BF's penchant for creating plausible opportunities for adventures, I've no doubt they could come up with an adventure or two for Mickey to have had while Rose was away. The Doctor does, after all, not always properly clean up the mess left behind. And I completely agree, a Jackie adventure would an amazing opportunity to do some comedy. That actress always makes me laugh.

It's in The Betrothal of Sontar graphic novel, features Jackie in a hilarious role and is written by Nev Fountain, a master of wit (as I, a listener of Omega, The Kingmaker and Peri and the Piscon Paradox can attest).

I have no problem with Big Finish doing Nu Who, I think it is good, but, also there is that nagging element, they also state they are a small company, if they are to satisfy all the ranges currently, they must be working flat out. If you increase the ranges even more, unless you retire some, you are going to rob the current releases of their current quality and the cannot be a good thing. I just wonder what direction they will take next. Although as Jason as stated, they Big Finish have stated it in black and white that they are free under licence to do development larger ranges. That does interest me a great deal.

BF are a very flexible company, in so much as a huge chunk of their work is carried out by what are in effect contractors and the recording studios are hired, over the years they have worked with many, so have a good range of and knowledge of people they can work with, as such it is much easier for them to expand their output than would be the case with a company that was looking at increased overheads, new office space and the problems of hiring staff and without causing overload within their staff.

As I understand it their bottlenecks are people like David R (ignoring sales / warehouse at peak). They record in several studios, and have access to five or more regular directors. The main resource problem seems to be around Matt Fitton who is already involved in everything new coming out, and writing umpteen titles!
Their exposure seems to be low for the reasons Jason says - no work = no use of contractors. All the writers (AFAIK) are paid per project, and it's only people like Joe/ Ian / David / ... who are actual employees

Thanks for the insight. I find the workings of BF interesting. Do you guys know what there sales figures run at for example. The profit per release fascinates me. I worked for a customer who is into producing and re pressing vinyl and CD audio last year mainly classical music and l heard them constantly on about tweaking the profit line.
