LMAO...that next to last line has me hee hawin. not in the same county...Man, that's harsh...
We don't know what went on in their relationship . I think we should be grateful that Lalla Ward continues to reprise the role of Romana and not infer things.

Also: can we not do gossip, guys? It feels a bit disgenious to the talented performers who continue to reprise their roles. Sometimes, people do slip or say things they later regret.

Sorry, but when things are said at conventions, they're then in the public arena - positive and negative. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Especially in this case...if Tom and Lalla's acrimony is news to anyone...they must be new in town. If you think anything crosses the line, report it to a mod, but you can't ask people to not post certain things just because you don't like "gossip". Especially when they're just saying what happened at a public speech and certainly not breaking confidences.

I posted exactly what John Leeson said on that matter and quoted my source. I don't claim that Ward said it because I didn't hear it directly from her. It came about because Leeson was being questioned about the circumstances that he records under. In that respect, I think it's germane to the interest of the group.

To be honest... from a technical point of view... I've Always been interested in the mechanism of recording Tom and LALA

Also... John is friends with both... so who does he record with?

At least he didn't claim that he's also the Monk. It's early yet and who knows is lurking? The Monk you say?

Also... John is friends with both... so who does he record with? He records with Tom as I said upthread. He said that they get in the full cast sans-Lalla and a stand-in reads her lines. Then, Lalla is dubbed in later. It has nothing to do with John's preferences. BF just wants to have as much of the cast together as possible and they decided that Lalla is the one to have dubbed in later rather than Tom.

As I mentioned earlier, this is something I've been curious about for a couple of years.

I've always wondered that myself as well. Not that it matters, the stories still come off very well. Although I had sort of hoped they'd be able to work together after all this time.

Me as well but figured they did not record together since BF would never answer the question directly when put to them. It doesn't change how I feel about the episodes but it is nice to have a question answered.

Agreed, although I sometimes feel as if Lalla sounds very stiff or disconnected from the narrative. I think that this may be the reason.

One thing that I forgot to mention before. I asked Nigel Fairs about his second Leela trilogy, and he told me that we all have to badger Jason Haigh-Ellery until he gives him the greenlight to finish it off.

It has been clarified for me by someone who wishes to remain anonymous that Lalla does occasionally get other actors to work with her. I have also been told that at least sometimes that has been Leeson. All that I can do is repeat what Leeson said at Chicago TARDIS. The questioner asked followup questions including asking if Leeson always works with Tom to which he replied that he does. However, earlier in the same session he did say that his memory isn't what it once was. So either he didn't hear the question correctly or he was misremembering because he almost always works with Tom. Either way, Tom and Lalla do not work together.

Either way, Tom and Lalla do not work together. Well done to the production team so, as it isn't noticable to me and those 4DAs sound great regardless.
