First day down. I'm not going to give a play-by-play on the Big Finish interview, because I'm going to post the audio, but I will provide some highlights. All that I'll say is that a member of the audience asked Elliott Chapman to do a reading as Hartnell, and he did an amazingly cool job for doing it "cold", so there's possible potential there for a first Doctor EA, although Eliott says so far there isn't one scheduled although he knows that David Richardson is mulling the possibility.
Eliott also had an idea for a story where all the minds of the Doctor and crew get swapped and he plays Jamie, Anneke plays the Doctor, and Fraser would have to play Ben and Polly.
Fraser Hines said that 3 of the EA's for next season have already been recorded.
Tim Treloar said that not naming any names but that the Doctor will face one of the iconic bad guys of his era in the next box set. Sounds like we're getting a Delgado recast.
As a spectator I learned from a John Leeson interview that Lalla Ward has said that while she's perfectly happy to continue playing Romana that she will not play her "in the same county" as Tom Baker. Apparently, a stand-in reads for Romana in any 4th Doctor/Romana BF audios and Lalla records her lines later.
Will post any further news/information that I feel may be of interest.

LMAO...that next to last line has me hee hawin. not in the same county...Man, that's harsh...
Thanks for the update, that's pretty cool...Only other icon I can think of off hand from Pertwee's era would be the enemy from the Daemons.

Matthew Waterhouse touted the mindswap plot a few years back - Adric and the Doctor swap, as do Tegan and Nyssa. I have to say I find Matthew's idea a much more delicious prospect.

I think the 3rd Doctor story might be the Dalek story Nick Briggs is writing. Maybe?
Ps.. Please keep us up to date with all the gossip.

Indeed. Please keep the information train running. That bit about Lalla Ward & Tom recording together or not is something I've wondered about for several years now.

You can understand it would be difficult, for both parties, so it's all credit to the BF guys for coming up with a solution that works.
While another Third Doctor Dalek story sounds great, aren't we all really itching for a Cyber-story?

The exact quote was "I'm sure that everyone will guess who I'm talking about, but the third Doctor is facing an iconic baddie from his era." Since he was speaking of a singular baddie that we could all guess from that era, I can only assume that it's the Delgado Master.

BF has established that he wasn't always a wheezened husk.

Today's tidbits: A new River Song set will include 7th and 6th Doctor stories.
They are currently recording the 10th season of 4da's.
They are currently working on BF's 20th anniversary project, but they will not divulge what that is yet.
I asked specifically about William Russell. I was told that he wasn't working with BF "right now" but Jason Haigh Ellery said that that does not mean that he might not work with them again in the future.

I assume the River Song news is about January's Volume 2? WHAT THE HELL THEY'RE RECORDING SERIES 10?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Tom Baker and Big Finish - we love you!!! It'll be interesting to see what they do for the 20th anniversary - presumably it'll contain Doctor Who content, and I'll be staggered if there isn't some Bernice Summerfield stuff thrown in too. Not sure what/if they'll do any of their other series... William Russell isn't a young man any more, but I do hope that he'll record as many stories as possible By the way - thanks for the news, dastari

And yes, now that you mention it I think that you must be right on River Song. I don't actually like the new series, so I haven't been paying attention to the BF news there. Since Jason mentioned it I thought that I'd pass it along. The Wiliam Russell news is interesting and not as final as others have said. Of course, Jason was so vague that it could mean a lot of things, but the fact that he was as hopeful that they would work together again is heartening.

I think you're using 'baddie' in a more specific way than it often is. Over here, we'd quite happily say "The Daleks" in answer to "Who is the baddie in this one?".

I'm not sure that Kronos (or Azal, or the Ambassadors, or the BOSS, or most of his other one off enemies) would really be considered iconic. The Nestene, Silurians, Sea Devils, and Sontarans all debuted in the Third Doctor's era, so it could be one of them. Its probably the Master though.

I hope your panel moderating duties went well. Tom recording series 10? Wasn't it a few months ago on one of the podcasts where David Richardson said series 7 was in the can, that scripts were finished for series 8, scripts for series 9 were being written and series 10 was being planned? They have certainly moved very quickly. Which is of course great news. Years worth more of Tom.
