MASH: Season 5, Episodes 5-6 - A pair of Houlihan centered episodes. Col. Flagg never disappoints. I kinda wish for the nurses episode they'd have used the recurring nurses we've actually seen all this time instead of hiring a new cast. Still, Margaret crying about how they all hate her had me crying too, while Mr Polly was like "Well stop being such a [female dog] all the time then!" He's not wrong...

MASH: Season 5, Episodes 7-9 - Another trio of good episodes. Although, in "The Korean Surgeon" Hawkeye skirts damn close to treason hiding a North Korean doctor and might have been a step too far for my suspension of disbelief.

first 2 eps of locke and key
not bad so far doing an ok job of translating the comic to tv screen
just wish we would not have so many flashbacks everyone seems so keen on doing these days

Columbo: "Old Fashioned Murder" - Not one of the better Columbo outings. Seems okay script-wise but I guess the execution was lacking the usual magic. Also, everyone spoke very crisply and formally for some reason. Being old fashioned, I suppose.
MASH: Season 5, Episodes 10-12 - One of these three had an episode where Potter's horse got sick and I found myself clucking my tongue and scoffing at some of the things they said about it. Now I know why my parents (both nurses) refused to watch ER. When you know enough about a subject to see when Hollywood gets it wrong, it can take you out of things.

Hello again
The Last Leg: Boris the builder, can he build it? Boris the builder! Probably not.
Any ideas for a wild construction project to improve the UK. e.g: A waterslide to replace the M1. A zipline from Glasgow to Edinburgh so Boris can get stuck in the middle.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: "You're Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About Mickey" - Thinking about thos beans.
Picard: "Absolute Candor" - A good episode, Picard's side of things was strong, though the Cube storyline made absolutely no progress. And I still really don't like the way the dialogue is written. But, the good outweighed the bad this week.

Picard Episode 4 : Absolute Candor. An episode of two halves.
Whilst Dr Agnes is rapidly becoming a firm favourite and the arrival of 'you know who' was a delight (albeit a delight spoiled by the actor's inclusion in the credits), the absolute highlight of the episode also emphasised again (to me at least) that this Trek universe is a bit of a different beast to the one I remember from the eighties and nineties - with the introduction of the Qowat Milat, a group of Romulan Warrior Nuns.
Not that I am complaining mind you.
As a wise Vulcan once said "change is the essential process of all existence", and you can't get more changed than with the introduction to a fifty four year old franchise of a group of Romulan Warrior Nuns. How delicious is that to savour? Story potentials galore! Just one appearance and I already want to know more about their history, especially if the novelists can shoehorn them into other eras of the franchise..
As I said though, an episode of two halves. Unfortunately the lowlight totally and utterly ignored the wise Vulcan's words - yep, I'm talking about Soji's story. Nothing changed! Last week left many questions to be answered after one of the Reclaimed pulled a gun on her. This week.. she got to indulge in a game of sock sliding before eating Narek's face..again. And speaking of again.. Narek's sister Narissa wandered in again, threatened her brother again, looked as if she wanted to snog him again and then wandered off again.
That was pretty much it.
You'd think with three talented young actors the writers could give them something more meaty to work with than this.. but no. What a waste. For the love of the Great Bird of the Galaxy move the plot strand along!

Hello again.
ITV's The Masked Singer is: a daft confection of singing in bizarre costumes, even dafter detective work and a wonderful cheesy presenting performance from Joel Dommett.
The panel were hilarious, though Rita Ora was the most successful detective. The performers seem to have had a whale of a time. It may not have been thought-provoking or clever but my teenage daughter and I enjoyed trying to work out who was behind the weird disguises.
Just a funny, sunny, colourful, singy show.

Miserable day-out
And Then There Were None-BBC series-Agatha Christie
i watched this one many times and felt I need a threat in isolation it’s a brilliant adaptation of the novel though I have a soft spot also for the BBC AUDIO dramatisation too.
I always wondered why these adaptations are never released on blu ray if this had been a cinema release I would have went if they had just erm provided a toilet break.
What a cast!!

Inside No. 9
A totally different episode this week, no comedy or (fantastical) horror, just the grim realities of working class families struggling through day to day. More Ken Loach than Ken Russell. Absolutely beautiful.

Hello again.
Inside Number 9 Love's Great Adventure, a very different story. A tv short story with real heart, about ordinary people, with ordinary struggles with one superpower binding them together.

Hello again. Inside Number 9 Love's Great Adventure, a very different story. A tv short story with real heart, about ordinary people, with ordinary struggles with one superpower binding them together. Stunning telly. It was a bit like their Twelve Days Of Christine (possibly one of the best half hours of TV of the 2010s) but even more grounded. What other show can go from Psychoville crossover to this in one week? Like going from Amicus to Mike Leigh.

This series is a series of intricate little short stories where Steve Pemberton and Reece Sheersmith tell whatever story they choose. I love the variety of them. I rewatched all of them recently. There are some real crackers. A Quiet Night In, The Trial of Elizabeth Gadge, Diddle Diddle Dumpling, the Riddle of the Sphinx, Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room and To Have and to Hold. The guest casts are usually really good. Which are your favourites?

Spirited, a quirky Australian supernatural dramedy about Suzy Darling, a recently separated uptight dentist who finds her new apartment is haunted by the ghost of 1980s English rock star Henry Mallet. Henry has amnesia about what exactly happened to him and only Suzy can see him. The key to his past seem to be in a strangely magical necklace Suzy has had since childhood. So far it’s very intriguing, with really good chemistry between Suzy and Henry and some interesting twists 😀 Definitely going to keep going with this one!😊
