After the awfulness that was the first series of Star Trek: Picard, I approached Star Trek: Lower Decks with a certain degree of caution but I found it to be pretty funny. I don't know how I'll feel at the end of it but I'm already more invested in new characters than at any point of Picard. Is it less juvenile and revolting than the trailers made it out to be, or is it the same Rick and Morty sort of humor throughout? My hope is that it may take an Orville sort of trajectory where it matures over time. I loathe Discovery, and while Picard was something of an improvement, I'm really quite sick of the 2009+ version of Star Trek. Lower Decks is the first time I've ever taken a wait-and-see approach with this franchise, so word-of-mouth is welcome. Not having The Orville or Rick and Morty as a reference, I can say yes, there are juvenile gags. I also think there are some really clever gags. And as noted, I feel like I know more about the characters after one thirty minute episode than I learned about any of the new characters in Picard after ten episodes. Also as noted, the juvenile gags could get old quick but I laughed out loud at least 3 times, so on my TV comedy scale, that buys it another episode or two.

cursed
not bad at all, till final ep then I don't know if it was fantastic or a let down.....but wont say anything for fear of spoilers if you can get over some terrible casting & dodgy makeup effects its worth a watch,
enjoyed it better than Witcher's confusion timeline, and much more than the family friendly a letter to the king
but when is someone going to make a proper RPG style fantasy show, with pace and storytelling adventure and monsters

Well, the character development sounds promising at least. And being a 30 minute comedy, I imagine it's not going to be mired in yet another season long universe-ending threat storyline. I'm not opposed to comedy Trek on principle, or anything. Thanks for your two cents!

Star Trek: Lower Decks season 1 (will there be a 2nd?) episode 1 - Second Contact. I won't be watching this show again. What a mess.

Hill Street Blues: "The Count of Monty Tasco" - I'm really impressed with the way this series handles its story arcs. It just fluidly drifts from one disaster to another, never spinning it wheels for too long, never feeling rushed. It's that nice Goldilocks zone of serialization.

I'm about halfway through season 5 of Agents of Shield. I'm on tenterhooks waiting to see what new surprises there will be.

Hill Street Blues: "Nutcracker Suite" - This season has continued to remind me of The Wire in a good way.

Supernatural season 14 finale......HOLY SH.T!!!!!!
This has become one of my favourite shows which has been treated appallingly in the UK showing episodes in the graveyard slot it deserves far more respect.

Umbrella Academy season 2. Great season, more character drama than action which was refreshing. Ritu Arya (Gat from Fugitive of the Judoon) was brilliant in it, everything I've seen her do has impressed me. Roll on season 3!

The Owl House A bit sluggish to start off with but I've really gotten into it.
King of the Hill "Firm, but with little give. Yup; these are medium rare." "What it someone want's their steak well-done." "We ask those people politely yet firmly to leave."
Beastars Been on my radar for a while. It was too hot to do anything productive yesterday so I just binged it. Not quite what I expect but very good. It does a great job making the characters and world feel so 3-dimensional. And it has one hell of an intro.

Hill Street Blues: Season 4, Episodes 20-21 - This is fake game show they have is hilarious. It's like a carnival duck shooting game, and the ducks you hit decide which trivia questions you have to answer? This needs to become real.
"Lt Calletano, you've hit the History Duck!"
That's gotta be Mark Frost's idea.

Hill Street Blues: "Eva's Brawn" - You know, given how tense the season was, this finale was more of a denouement than a climax.

Just finished series one of His Dark Materials, it’s been years since I read the first book but I loved this tv series! Everything was wonderfully realized and epic! I like the expanded focus on the adult characters! Mrs.Coulter was wonderful terrifying! I also really like Lin Manuel as as Lee Scoresby!Despite Lee being much younger and roguish than he is the book or previous movie, I think he adds some much needed levity! I also am glad they don’t shy away from the dark subject matter! Dafne Keen is also very convincing as Lyra and does well carrying the show! I can’t wait for the next series!😊

I’ve just started re-reading the books for first time in years and it’s interesting seeing what different directions the adaptation took.

Hill Street Blues: Season 5, Episodes 1-3 - I was surprised to find four new regulars when there was only one vacancy. Not complaining, just found it odd given the already-large ensemble.
