Was this the doppleganger ep with Bruce? I remember seeing this on tv back then. You know, being a twin- we are critical about the "authenticity" of twindom representation HAHAHA That's the one. Something tells me you and your twin get along much better than The Bruces Willis did....

In honor of the late great Dame Diana Rigg, I thought it was time I checked out an episode of The Avengers - specifically her first - The Town of No Return! I've heard some of BF's remade season 1 but not seen any of the original series. A lot of fun, overall - the dialogue snappy, the action very Bond-esque and the chemistry between the leads sparkling from the start. I'm sure I'll come back for more at some point!

Can I make some recommendations? One is in the monochrome era and one's in colour: The Cybernauts and Return of the Cybernauts, respectively. The former has Michael Gough as electronics genius, Dr Armstrong. The latter features Peter Cushing as sculptor, Paul Beresford. They have some interesting stylistic similarities with stories from Doctor Who. I'll keep schtum about which ones, but I think you'll see them on viewing. Outside that, one of my personal faves for Mrs Peel was Murdersville (in colour). She and an old friend stumble across the quiet hamlet of Little Storping, where murder is enthusiastically encouraged. Rigg leads the story with Steed taking a supporting role.

A long time ago, during the transition from video cassettes to DVDs, I somehow had the foresight to put many of one onto the other. Some of these cassettes still exist, but can't be played without some difficulties. Others, well, they've succumbed to the fungous goodness of a damp storage area. But the DVDs themselves are still intact after all these years and, better still, a lot of what was recorded here is a surprise to me. Funny how I can remember a lot of it, but not readily recall it, per se, without prompting. Some of it is Season 22 in its chopped-up 25-minutes, some of it is Batfink or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but perhaps most unexpectedly... I found the old BBC miniseries adaptations of C.S. Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe stories. I'm currently watching The Silver Chair, which among its human-sized owls and animatronic lions has a familiar face. Tom Baker features as the Marsh-Wiggle, Puddleglum. Neat!

First time I ever saw Tom in anything! I actually had two pet frogs named puddle and glum when I was younger 😁 Which is your favorite of the BBC Narnia’s?

It was Silver Chair long, long ago, but I'm double-checking just to be sure. My favourite part of the serial is their descent into the underworld. It feels genuinely oppressive and Tom really delivers with Puddleglum's panic when he can't see the sky anymore. It has a lovely, building sense of dread to the place. The children begin to forget, their host is obviously quite mad and the Chair itself is quite an intimidating piece of metalwork, in and of itself (never mind its actual properties...).

The Twilight Zone '85: Season 1, Episodes 2-3 - I'm kind of not a fan of the multiple stories per episode format. I think it hurt Night Gallery in the long run. Decent bunch of 'em tonight, though. Terry O'Quinn vs a shapeshifting alien was the best of these. Wes Craven seems to be directing a lot of stories.
Hill Street Blues: "Seoul on Ice" - One of those tragic episodes where nothing ends well for anybody...

Cobra Kai Episodes 1-4 After marathoning all the Karate kid movies last week I started watching Cobra Kai, even though I miss Mr. Miyagi, I have to say so far I like it even better than the movies🤔😊 I don’t know what it is but something about the story in this is even more compelling the movies at times. I love how much more morally gray the rivalry between Johnny and Daniel is, it’s much more interesting than the cut and dry bully and victim dynamic from the original! I am also just amazed at how Johnny manages to be such a likable, sympathetic and compelling character despite his past. The fight choreography is also impressive! The teenage characters are also pretty well written especially Miguel. The only thing I miss from the original (other than Mr. Miyagi) is the pretty beach training montages. I have a feeling it’s going to be even better as it it goes along 😊

Paused my Star Trek TNG watching to sneak in some of the original series - a few of the early ones I watched years ago, so today was a double feature of repeats - The Enemy Between and The Man Trap. I had forgotten 99% of the latter - that 1% was the plant that is clearly just a hand in a pink fuzzy glove. It's a decent enough episode though. The weakest of the three "first" episodes, but solid Trek.
But Enemy Between is just oozing with FLAIR - I remember thinking it was well-directed (and well-lit) the first time around, but watching it again, I found myself comparing some of the shots to Metropolis or other grandiose early films. It's mostly when Evil Kirk is on screen because Shatner plays him like he's a silent film villain, all shifty eyes and exaggerated gestures. The first Great One, I'd say.

Just started watching The Boys. Been putting it off because to be honest I’m getting rather burned out when it comes to superheroes. Really interesting it so far and Karl Urban, despite his ‘interesting’ attempts at a Cockney accent is great.
All props to the fellow they got to play Homelander though. He’s absolutely terrifying.
