When episode 8 started I thought I was watching Buffy, I don't like Buffy. Why Buffy? Or Charmed, all that witchy stuff felt like the prologue to one of those episodes.

Star Trek TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part 2" - I can see the argument that "Mr Worf, fire!" being resolved the way it is might be a letdown. But I think Part 2 holds its own. Victory comes at a high cost indeed.
Quantum Leap: "The Leap Home, Part 1" - First you give me Al's ghost dance in "MIA" and now we've got that scene with Sam singing "Imagine" to Katie on the porch. This run of episodes is making me use up a lot of tissues.

Continuing with my TOS re-watch. Corbomite Maneuver and Conscience of the King. Two quite strong episodes. It does help that my English class did some Shakespeare in depth back in the day.
Some of these old stories have aged quite well, but there are of course certain elements that forcefully remind you this was made in the 1960s. Foremost- the dress sense of the women and of course the incidental music. For some reason I find this quite jarring in places.

His Dark Materials - Season 1, Episode 2
Still a way to go, but this visually gorgeous production is heading in the right direction to expunge from my memory a certain film adaptation. And naturally it wasn't until the credits were rolling that I finally twigged just where I'd seen the young actress playing Lyra before*...
*She was Laura in "Logan". It took me two full episodes before the penny dropped. TWO FULL EPISODES! I used to have better recall than that ....👴🤦♂️

Twin Peaks: "May the Giant Be With You" - I would like to track down whoever was working at the German TV station that came up with these titles and ask them why in the HELL they thought a cornball Star Wars reference was a good choice. Anyway, despite the flack the second season gets, in may ways I prefer it because that's where all the supernatural mythology really comes to the fore.
Star Trek TNG: "Family" - An unusual episode, but a necessary one. I appreciate that they took the time to provide closure to the events of the previous two episodes.

Wandavision - Episode 9 ("The Series Finale")
A review in emoji :
😲🤦♂️👏😕🤔😭🤔😲🤗
Who needs spoilers?
I will say the last episode answers some questions and leaves some dangling...and there is a mid credits scene AND an end credits scene..
..and only two weeks until The Falcon And The Winter Soldier...

WandaVision finale. I think the Marvel universe just isn't for me anymore as I didn't have any real emotional response to this episode & a lot of it just felt so formulaic, some obvious set up for future Marvel films/tv shows, some dodgy FX & perfunctory punch ups. Less episodes may have helped & a more interesting storytelling approach. A real anti-climax, with the obvious post credits scenes but it all just felt inconsequential as a piece of its own (but I guess that is true to the comic book world with story arcs being linked to other comics etc). There were some interesting ideas but no real interesting follow thorough, {Spoiler} why not have Wanda as the true villain instead of introducing a new one late in the day who is just there to show us that Wanda isn't that bad & be brought back in a movie? & of course Wanda can't really be a baddie that would be too bold a move on Marvel's part. Maybe I will see how it goes with Loki this summer, looks fun.

Says it all! I marathoned this all last night to get up to speed for the finale today. Absolutely adored it. I've 100% suffered from Superhero Fatigue but this was so original, so clever and yet grounded in everything that we know is possible in the MCU. How they took the two dullest Avengers (though two of the best actors) and some of the most annoying supporting characters from the films and made this is, well, a Marvel. And unlike Marvel's previous forays into TV with Agents Of SHIELD (which I liked a lot for the first few years) and the like, this is absolutely essential continuity. It's clearly setting up at least two Phase 4 movies. Films I'm suddenly....excited by. 10/10? Maybe - it's perfectly itself which is all I can really ask.

For All Mankind. I am about halfway through season 1 & am enjoying this, it has a slower character driven pace than I expected & takes some interesting turns with the premise of Russia landing on the moon first, especially with the role of women in this alternate history of the space race.

Over the past few days I've watched 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' in full, which I pretty-much enjoyed as much as when it went out (I've read the books a couple of times since but, since I've had this week & last off from work, have only just got round to re-watching them).
Throughout today I've been marathoning 'WandaVision' (I still have the last two episodes left to go before bed). Whilst I will say that I did know two of the big twists going in, I have been pleasantly enjoying!

WandaVision episode 8 Oh god! So much emotion! 😢I’m not the biggest Marvel fan but that was a very satisfying ending! Did anyone else cry? I was slightly disappointed for a while during the later half of this series things weren’t as immersed in the creepy sitcom world as earlier episodes, but this finale was worth it!

So my wife read all the "Bridgerton" books and the prequels when they were 1st published about 20 years ago.. We watched episode 1 tonight.. I kept randomly calling it "Upton Rectory", a play on "Downton Abbey" thanks to the genius that is the Simpsons writers LOL. .. I hate to say it, but I enjoyed it.. however, there is no way I could have lived in those times/era with all the gossiping going on. (And we spotted a Doctor Who actress immediately as per the quota of every thespian in the UK being in either Doctor Who or Harry Potter)

They really stuck the landing with the emotional core of the series with {Spoiler} Wanda saying goodbye to her boys and Vision being the stand-out scene. Didn't quite cry, but definitely struck a chord. Everything else felt a little rushed.

Finished the final episode of The Sopranos last night.
It’s one of those shows that I’ve been meaning to watch for years, knowing it appeals, but never did up until about a month ago. I loved it from the first episode and adored it from season two onwards once I’d got a good understanding of the large ensemble, the work they do, etc.
James Gandolfini, Lorraine Bracco and Edie Falco are all incredible throughout, but it’s a testament to the rest of the cast that they hold their own against them. Even one of the cast passed away after the second season, but their presence is very much felt in the years to come.
What really struck me about the show is, despite bingeing it, there were so many distinct and memorable episodes. At least a couple of dozen that I felt were worthy of fighting spots in a top 10 or even a top 5. A lot of the time with bingeing - whether a show is intended for that or not - you enjoy the show, understand it and can recall the story, but not necessarily in what specific episode. And what I love is that for all the crazy and memorable things they do, it always come down to the therapy session or the dinner table and that’s really where the heart of the show is.
It plays the long game with quite a few story threads and the continuity the show keeps is top drawer, how little things connect or are called back upon, and it’s completely natural. Having said that, there are a couple of plot lines that feel like they take a backseat to their detriment; it’s a minor criticism but they stand out just because of how good everything else is handled.
All this praise and I can’t confidently said I understood everything completely and I know full well I’ll pick up on a whole new layer of things when I do an inevitable rewatch in a few years. For now, I’ve pre-ordered The Sopranos Sessions paperback that’s out in a couple of weeks and can’t wait to get stuck into that.

First a trip to Cestus III and now back in time to Earth in the Sixties. Amazing that they very nearly predicted the correct date of the first moon landing in TOS.... And these updated visuals. Sorry I am going on about this. But the scenes of the Enterprise in Earth orbit and in Earth's atmosphere are stunning. This is better than the footage of Voyager in Earth's orbit (now that I had the direct comparison), but of course the TOS re-master took place years after filming Voyager.
