Just finished off Marvel's What If...? I liked that the finale managed to touch on all the previous episodes - even the unfinished one (which is to be released in Season 2). Enjoyed the series - some of the episodes (T'Challa in Space especially) stand out more than others for me, but I can safely say I enjoyed all nine. It really felt like watching nine abridged MCU movies - and as with all things abridged, you usually get some stuff that feels rushed (I mean, Captain America felt rushed at two hours, Captain Carter even more so at 30 mins) and other stuff that works better without padding. Might be nice to see some of the one-off stories extend to two-parters next season - and I do wonder if Strange Supreme will make his way to the big screen, even just as a cameo... Sorry but I hate it…… like a 12 year olds playground talk….it felt to me like milking characters for all their worth did like the zombie one though……and nice to see 2d animation……. glad you enjoyed it.

Currently enjoying the second series of The Goes Wrong Show. It’s silly yeah, but I don’t know, slapstick just appeals to the child in me. Henry Lewis as Robert absolutely stole the show this run. Brilliant performance every time. You coul tell COVID hit them quite hard though. His acting class in Ep 4...man. Funniest thing since the Judge's chamber in S1. "THERE IS NO ROOM FOR BIG HEADEDNESS IN THESE CHAMBERS!" I love the show, I watch the 3 DVDs far, far too much.

But what do you expect from the relevant trumpeter?

I enjoyed the first series as it went out, but absolutely loved the second! I saw the tour 'version' of 'The Play That Goes Wrong' yesterday, and am considering giving it another watch-through (yes, I know it was released last week, shush ).

I finished The OA. The "ending" was nuts. It really is a shame that Netflix cancelled this show. I would have loved to see what they did with it. And it has to be said, Jason Isaacs is fantastic in every single thing he does.

There was definitely some pretty bad cringe in the first season, but I really liked it just the same -- especially in its second season. Agreed that it's a shame there wasn't a third.

Muppets haunted mansion…..is it a tv special or short film?
But not too bad, funny-ish, lots of in jokes for anyone who has visited the ride……much better than the lame film with Eddie Murphy that didn’t know what it wanted to be
Ran out of steam about 2/3 of the way through but still enjoyed it. like muppet Christmas carol might just become a holiday favourite to watch each year

A Tale Dark and Grim
I’m not the target demographic for this show at all, but I saw the description of it being a darkly whimsical fairy tale animated series and those are all things I like so I decided why not . I only planned on watching one or two episodes but somehow ended up becoming a bit addicted and binge watched 7 episodes and stayed up until 2 am. I love the “A Series of Unfortunate Events” vibe that this show has! Also I think this is the first children’s show I have watched where it starts out with the main child protagonists getting their heads chopped off by their own parents! Luckily they get their heads stitched back on but still! I don’t know why I got so addicted to this show last night , I think it must be the combination of the bright whimsical fairy tale setting contrasted with all the surprisingly dark and sometimes actually gruesome moments. My one complaint is that I wish they just had the one British raven narrator instead the two other annoying ones. The British raven had a good delivery that was reminiscent of Lemony Snicket but the other two ravens reminded me a little too much of those annoying gargoyles from “Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Overall I like this show a lot and I am sure I will finish the rest of the episodes.
Sidenote: Any one else ever become unexpectedly addicted to a show meant for children as an adult?

Sidenote: Any one else ever become unexpectedly addicted to a show meant for children as an adult? I have. I used to watch Star Trek on TV in daily syndication in the afternoon, and before that they would have Disney on for the kids just getting home from school. I got tired of remembering to turn on the TV halfway through Star Trek and started to turn it on earlier, so I ended up catching a lot of Duck Tales and Higher for Hire, and really started looking forward to it. Higher for Hire especially, I thought "This is Don Carnage speaking to you with my voice" was absolutely hilarious in a Pythonesque sort of way. Don should have been up there with John Cleese playing the taunting guard atop Guido Lombard's castle, lol. I shouldn't admit to the rest of it, but try and feel strange after this, I dare you. :-) This was was about when my kind of autistic thing about getting characters and mannerisms stuck in my head was at its worst, and for a little while I kind of ended up with Scrooge McDuck in my head as kind of a really bad guru who was always giving the most obvious unnecessary advice: "Laddie, ye canna stick a fork in the toaster" and "Ye canna put out a fire with a flammable liquid" and so forth. It's funny now but it almost started to get to me before it quieted down

Sidenote: Any one else ever become unexpectedly addicted to a show meant for children as an adult? There are certainly shows that are meant to be kids' shows, but I find that the line gets blurred quite frequently. Star Wars TCW and Rebels, Avatar The Last Airbender, The Muppets, Looney Tunes, Pixar's films, Batman TAS...heck, even Doctor Who! Every one of them is ostensibly marketed at children, but all are thoroughly enjoyable as an adult. The line is hard to find sometimes

Every one of them is ostensibly marketed at children, but all are thoroughly enjoyable as an adult. The line is hard to find sometimes That's kind of what I love about the shows that have stuck with me over the years. After a certain point in adulthood, there's a desire to go back and revisit things from childhood to see how they fare with being "all terribly grown-up" and so forth. The vast majority of them tend to hold water because there was the immediate thing as a kid to enjoy, but as an adult, you're kind of standing there just quietly in awe at what you didn't notice. Like Looney Tunes doing a Wagnerian opera ("Kill the wabbit~!") in something like six or seven minutes. It goes back to the idea that there are things which are terribly relevant as a child, less relevant as a teen and irrelevant as an adult, and vice versa. Irrelevant to the child, more relevant to the teen, very relevant to the adult. Somewhere in those two scales are the things which always stick with you. Things with as much pertinence now as they had then. Like... Ohh, off the top of my head, Trollhunters. A Guillermo del Toro series that doesn't go into the intensity of things like Pan's Labyrinth or Shape of Water, but takes a very candid look at an unlikely band of friends easing apart what the word "monster" actually means. They're very clever. They don't short-change their audience just because they're young. If anything, they try to give them a challenge, as a result.
