A certain Netflix tv show starting with "D".. I have read a lot of books, seen a lot of documentaries on this topic over the last 3 decades. You mean Dahmer? I really don't think Ryan Murphy is the right person to do this show then again why on earth are they making it. Vile human being. & from what I have read. Vile show. Yes he was a vile person, however him and all the others are used as learning tools by law enforcement, psychiatrists, psychologists etc to better understand the (in)human condition. In all my documentaries and books etc I have watched and read over the last 3 decades there is a common denominator. It reminds me of the line in X Men 2 with Ice Man's mother:
"Have you tried..not being a mutant?"
They simply cannot, doing what they do is like us breathing/walking/talking . That's what has to be studied (IMHO), how to legally identify people who are mentally built this way and help stop them .
Ryan is interesting.. He went from Glee to American Horror Story/Stories spin off to this.

I finally watched with my boy the 1st 2 episodes of "Monkey".. Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy, Tripitaka etc.. Used to watch it on it's original run back in the late 70's early 80's.. Was on channel 2 back then with Doctor Who and The Goodies and every other UK comedy show.. We bonded even more, wife knows it was a "moment" for me..Junior enjoyed it.

I agree law enforcement, criminologists etc do have to learn but from academic studies & this is not that. Its entertainment. A drama. & now the relatives have to relive it all again. As for quoting a line from a superhero movie when discussing a real life serial killer, rather crass in my opinion. But I guess there is a market for this sort of tv, we have had countless fictional dramas based on real life murderers. Each to their own I guess but please spare a thought for the damage this does to the mental health of the friends & family of victims linked to these killers.

HeyJ.. the quote ties in with what the psychiatrists etc eventually get to in their discussions/interviews etc with them. "Why did you do this? Are you able to stop doing this? " etc etc..
I guess we won't have the news then, as that brings up lots of damaging humanity past/present. It's an endless cycle just try to block out what you perceive as negative otherwise you won't be leaving your front door TBH.
As for the specifics of the network, I haven't personally looked into that, I do agree they should at least prepare the families that this story is going ahead, also to try not to sensationalise it in a tabloidy way. 101% horrific events occured- treat it and the people with the respect they deserve, absolutely agree with you on that.
We have 20+ seasons of Law and Order they are mostly based on real events- NCIS just as long but not based on real events from what I can tell. Yes, there is a market for everything, just tell it truthfully and honestly and no blatant falsities.

FINALLY.. After x amount of years, wife and I finally watched Season 1 of "The Office" (The USA version).. Great show, so much character development waiting to explode in the next 9 seasons.. Sooo obvious there is an underlying "thing" between the characters of Jim and Pam..

She Hulk episode 8. An ok episode but we're inevitably seeing the character become a regular superhero.

Saw the latest trailer for Velma the “comedic” animated “reimagining” of a popular Scooby doo character Looks terrible and unfunny sadly WB didn’t cancel that project

Just finishing off Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.
You know, in this day and age it’s nice to have a television series which is just solid from beginning to end. Greatly enjoyed this.
And on a more Who related note, I could actually see if I were casting the character for life action James Nesbitt voicing someone like Frobisher. He certainly has the personality and comedic timing to pull it off. And I know he usually has an American accent but considering he’s a shape changer and all I don’t think it would be so egregious.

Latest Rings of Power episode.
It’s weird. One the one hand you have the Galadriel/Numenor storyline cruising along well and organically setting up prequel materiel. There’s some genuinely great stuff here.
And then on the other there’s the Elf/Dwarf storyline which is just a bizarre set of backstory for stuff that does not need backstory, whilst kinda missing the point of said stuff at the same time. Plus it hinges on Elrond and Durin’s friendship…which we still have no context for why they are so close.
Oh and the Proto-Hobbits have finally gone off on their adventure. Only took 90% of the season.

Wife and I had an opening in our scheduled tonight, we just did a marathon 5 episodes in a row of "The Office" (US version) with no extraneous interruptions - we are almost 1/2 way through season 3. Slowly catching up.

After watching the 2004 film adaptation, I thought I’d give the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events a look. I know, I know, I’m about five years too late but better late than never.
Must admit, my first reaction is that I prefer the visual look of the film over the series.

Was a couple episodes behind on House of the Dragon, caught up on those. How is it that Daemon and Viserys are brothers, but where Daemon hasn't aged a day since episode 1, Viserys aged into Gollum?!
Otherwise...
Lower Decks continues to be good, with the exception of last week's gigantic miss.
She-Hulk continues to be great, will be sad to see it wrap next week.
Werewolf By Night was hilarious, just a perfect homage to/parody of classic Universal monster movies.
Andor has continued its prestige drama-style slow burn (in a way that I've enjoyed), but then really kicked it into high gear today. Really pleased that we're only halfway through the season.
And Rick and Morty is still doing great, even if I'm finding this season a bit of a step down since last year.

& yet you are still commenting on it? I seem to recall you say this I was at my cousins house I can't tell his daughter what to watch but she knows I loathe this hence why she watched it, no way am I watching anymore of this twaddle. Still I appreciate that you taking a interest in my TV viewing habits even when I'm visiting at another's house & have no say on what there watching. I mean no malice in what I’m about say Timelord, and I know this is a long time after you posted this, but couldn’t you have just left the room?
