Strange. I could have sworn there was one year the Christmas Special was on at 8pm. Oh come on. You being wrong isn't strange at all for us.

At least A Christmas Carol was bang on six o' clock and not a time where it's still within the five o' clock hour.

Nice to know then, that the BBC aren't actually 'screwing over' Doctor Who at all!

I always sky+ it anyway so it don't bother me what time it's scheduled.
The scheduling of series 8 & 9 was far worse in my opinion.

The ideas embodied by Sky+ are becoming ever more prevalent, if I recall correctly the latest Virgin box allows you to record 4 channels whilst watching a 5th. Freeview has a standard called "Freeview Recorder" (formerly known as Freeview+ or Freeview Plus) and the "Freeview Play" standard which integrates (well attempts to) catchup services like BBC iPlayer into program guide (so you can look into the past as well as the future and find content) includes within it the "Freeview Recorder" standard. While 5 of 7 currently available Freesat set top boxes offer recording. Sure when VOD services actually deliver all broadcast content, the recording boxes will basically become obsolete, but that's a way off yet.

Since you clearly have preconceived ideas, thoughts and opinions about something you have not seen and it's a fair bet that these ideas, thoughts and opinions will be in all important ways the same as they always are, perhaps this time we can forgo being told at all? You know, since we already know.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I've refused to watch The Husbands of River Song, because of how rubbish it was! If you've not watched The Husbands Of River Song, how do you know it's rubbish? How does one know that a film they don't want to go and see is rubbish. I watch trailers, read reviews, listen to friends! The normal things! I tolerate Capaldi, can't stand River Song, Greg Davies, Matt Lucas or Moffats writing.
