If you've not watched The Husbands Of River Song, how do you know it's rubbish? How does one know that a film they don't want to go and see is rubbish. I watch trailers, read reviews, listen to friends! The normal things! I tolerate Capaldi, can't stand River Song, Greg Davies, Matt Lucas or Moffats writing. This is a genuine question, and not intended as any kind of put-down: does it make you happy telling people who like Steven Moffat's Doctor Who, that you don't like it? Not just once, but again and again? The reason I ask is this - I like Doctor Who as it is. It makes me happy. I can't imagine you get the same pleasure out of telling people how much you hate it. Or do you? Your postings often just seem a little mean-spirited. To use a clumsy analogy, it's a little like visiting people you know at Christmas and telling them their Christmas presents are rubbish. Why would anyone do that? They say that bad news sells. Certainly, bad news - or negative news - attracts more comments than positive news. Are you perhaps aiming for more reactions by being negative all the time? As I say - this isn't a put-down, I just want to understand your negative posts.

There's lots of things I don't watch because of these things, I know I probably won't like them. Knowing I won't like them though does not qualify me to say they are rubbish unless I've seen them.

That's the key difference here, of course: You can say you have no interest in an episode, based on second hand and hearsay. You can't say you don't like an episode based on second hand, however. Nothing can ever, ever, replace an actual experience. It's like saying you don't like the taste of chocolate, but only because a friend said chocolate tastes bad.

I've refused to watch The Husbands of River Song, because of how rubbish it was! If you've not watched The Husbands Of River Song, how do you know it's rubbish? I told him

For what it's worth, I loved The Husbands of River Song. I want to watch it again, when I have a chance to.
