BF have confirmed they are looking into doing some Who comic adaptions (though no indications at to when or what they will be), assuming this happens, which ones would you like to be adapted? And do you see any potential pitfalls in adapting such a visual medium to audio?

There are many many DWM (DWW) strips that I'd love to hear adapted if done right, 4th & Sharon, 6th & Frobisher, 8th & Izzy etc...
Although what I would really like is a BF and Titan/Pannini joint venture where some new Doctor Who audio stories were accompanied by a comic/TPB of the story. A rights nightmare probably, but it would sure be cool. Adapting old DW comic strips would be an acceptable alternative though!

I suspect they'll adapt the Iron Legion stuff and Voyager. Probably the 8th Doctor stuff too. I'd personally love to hear the last run of 10th Doctor comics in Audio form, but from what's been said about Tennant... I have a feeling that won't happen.

My guess is that the Star Beast is most likely (already used Beep in the Ratings War . Ground Zero Arc just to see the online reactions I'd love 8th and Izzy (though I doubt BF could get Gemma Rooper back to play her. Regards mark687

Why dont you think they'd get Jemima Roper back for Izzy? Judging by wiki she's a really busy actress and might not be interested in returning to a role she had for only a day a decade ago, I haven't read the comics but isn't Izzy supposed to be in her early 20's? That could cause a problem for CD covers and Roper might struggle to recapture her younger voice.

I'd love adaptations of some of the Parkhouse era of the 5th and 6th Doctors. The Stockbridge two-parter in particular was one of the greatest DW strips ever that I think would convert to audio well.
I'd love the Sixth Doctor strips, though some of the Astrolarbes stories - the high mark of the era - are not always as plot-heavy as you'd need for even an hour long story. They're often subversive and with novel concepts but not dense enough to make audio from. Voyager could be adapted but my own personal favourite, Once Upon A Time Lord, is something that could only be done on the page. The panel layout changes to the 6 framed panels with text underneath directly referencing Rupert The bear and Tarzan strips along the way. The Doctor, by crossing to this new universe, finds that his adventures are being "written" in a different way where everything is relayed in rhyming couplets....it's fascinating. So much imagination. The sci-fi of the earlier strips by the likes of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons were replaced by a much more fantasy-oriented style. Before Alan McKenzie took over as script editor, the idea with the strips seemed to be "What would the show be like it they had more money?" wheras afterwards the m.o. seemed to be "Let's take the concept and do our own thing".
So I'd love to see some of them but I wonder what the format would be. Stockbridge is a gorgeous story but I think it would need only an episode - two at a real stretch - to tell. No way would it be a 2-discer without massive padding. Wheras The Iron Legion I think would work as a bit longer of a story and lends itself to being expanded in places.

Though to be fair, Company Of Friends was probably only a day's work, she hasn't really done the Who thing in much detail yet...

Having not read the comics, but being a huge fan of the Matlese Penquin and Holy Terror I'd be interested in seeing the 6th Doctor comics adapted, and I've heard very good things about The Iron Legion and the 8th Doctor run.
Do we know if this is just DWM comics they are looking into? Or are the Radio Times, Annual or TV Comic strips also a possibility?

But If she did a these or a One-off boxset of Original adventures, that would be great lol

I hope that BF get the original comic artists to do the covers for these releases. New art from Dave Gibbons etc would be fantastic and give the range a special feel.

Regards mark687 If they can't get her back and don't want to do a recast, they can always adapt some of the stories where Izzy is in Destrii's body. Presumably she would have a different voice.

My first choice would probably be the stories collected in the graphic novel The Glorious Dead, although the rights with Grace would have to be cleared up.
Failing that, I'm always happy to hear more Frobisher. The Fifth Doctor stories would be a real treat as well.

Put me down for The Glorious Dead too, i'd love to see how they could play about with all that Omniverse business in an audio format. 'Children of the Revolution' is another one, and 'The Flood' would be nice too. So many stories, hard to choose just a few

Those last few TV Comic strips with the Second Doctor, when he's in exile on Earth.
I need an audio adaptation of that arc.

Given that the Black Hole offerred an alternative to 6B, I suspect that BF wants to stay away from that. For the time being, at least. Terrance Dicks's World Game is still out there and, more broadly, The Company of Friends offered a unified timeline that was previously refuted by Zagreus's multiverse perspective. There's every possibility that the decision may be reversed at some point in the future or the two allowed to exist in tandem beside one another.
