Well, some of what I've heard has been enough to convince me to watch it so... hopefully it won't disappoint.

I'm looking forward to Saturday very much. Hoping Bill is as likable as Pearl is. Hoping Nardole keeps being a fascinating unknown quantity. Hoping Capaldi keeps doing as well as he has done since he started. Hoping Moffat gives us a series opener as great as The Eleventh Hour. Hoping the ratings are up on Series 9 after the +28 days count is in. Hoping we see something new and fresh.

That being said, it's going to be hard for me to see this series as one last ride. While I'll give it a chance, I'm really NOT looking forward to Chibnall's take.

It's strange to think this is Moffat's last season - and supposedly the last series he'll write for as well. He's been a big part of what made me a fan of Doctor Who - I started with Eccleston - and he's pretty much been a constant since 2005. To think this series and then the Christmas special are it... Well, I'll certainly miss him. I have reasonable hope, however, that Chibnall or someone after Chibnall will convince him back to write an episode or two.
Anyways, I just want The Pilot to be exciting, fresh, and just as strong as Moffat's opening episodes usually have been (with the exception of Asylum of the Daleks - didn't particularly care for that one).

It's funny to think the last time we had a season opener was the day the old BF forum closed down. Here's hoping we survive this one.

AAs ThirdActFilm is having me cover each episode, I should have an episode review up tomorrow, or day after failing that.

The whole family enjoyed that. Flagged a little in the middle, but not too much. Hope the mystery of the vault will turn out to be worthwhile.

It doesn't air for a few more hours here but I couldn't resist spoiling myself. I wonder if they'll give John Simm's incarnation of the Master a name. We just refer to each incarnation by the actor's name.

Took me a few minutes to get into it, I'll admit. It was like hopping onto a rollercoaster! But that's no bad thing - and once it got going (or I got going!), I really enjoyed it. Nardole I find genuinely funny and I hugely don't want anything horrible to happen to him (but I've got a nasty feeling it might). Bill is very likeable without ever going over the top - funny, moving, dramatic (the argument with The Doctor at the end especially), but all acted very convincingly. I really don't want Peter C to go. I say this regularly, but it's true, and the one sadnes about watching these episodes is knowing they aree among his last.
The Pilot - very enjoyable indeed. Terrific spooky fun.

I'm not really sure that the Daleks were necessary, but for the most part it was a good episode. I'm still not sold on Bill, I think it's going to take a few episodes for me to decide whether I like her.

Was a good intro story, so a good jumping on point for new viewers, for me it lacked some depth, but I enjoyed it.
