I liked Grant too (and I loved The Return of Doctor Mysterio, ), but I'd rather see him within his own space then the Time War. A Big Finish box set of Grant stories with cheesy comic book sound effects similar to the ones heard in the Adam West Batman would be fun. That's one way of putting it. Exploring comic book superhero conventions not only felt so out of place in Dr Who but it had all been done long long long before & better. Doctor Mysterio was terrible! Who knows though. There is a comic book so maybe this will emerge on audio sometime?

Not sure about situations, but I’d love a War Doctor Chronicles set as a final farewell to the War Doctor range. Or even just a Short Trip with Ollistra.
Not sure who’d do the narration and John Hurt, though.

I’ve been thinking about a story running concurrently to The Day of the Doctor. The story I’ve had features The Rani during the Time War, hearing of the Doctor’s possession of the moment sets out on her own race against time to find a way to save Gallifrey before he activates the moment.

Like the Third Doctor crossed with Davros. The rest of the reading is fine, and I think his various Daleks in it are terrific, but the impression less so.

Now, Death Comes to Time, I'd like wiped from my memory completely. DID DAN FREEMAN EVEN WATCH AN EPISODE OF DOCTOR WHO? WHY DOESN'T THE DOCTOR ACT LIKE THE DOCTOR? THEY GAVE THE DOCTOR SUPER POWERS? I actually liked Death Come to Time, apart from the ending. I thought it wasn't a bad take on Doctor Who. (An Unbound before the Unbounds.) Although by the time it was finished Big Finish were already setting the standards of audio Doctor Who at such a high level once you got past the gimmicky webcast bit there wasn't enough in DCTT to excite the fans that much. If treated as a Seventh Doctor Unbound story Death Comes to Time is not actually that bad. Or a story waaaaaay at the end of the timeline. The situation with the Time Lords is a rather intriguing interpretation... The right (rite?) of a TARDIS is granted by a figure known as the Kingmaker, there is only a handful of them left as a group known as the Fraction, they possess the Power to bend space-time, and these Time Lords (unlike their contemporaries) are sworn to help proactively but must do so as pacifists. It's an intriguing, almost mystical interpretation of them, it makes me wonder if this might be their ultimate fate. Maybe by this point in time, Gallifrey is empty due to some great cataclysm and all the renegades -- the final members of their race -- are winking out. Coda. Finito. Gone. The universe carrying on in whatever form it need do with maybe humanity (or some variant of it) taking up the mantle of the Lords of Time.

I actually thought Nick sounded very much like a grumpy War Doctor in that audiobook! For me it was one of his best impressions. Engines of War was a damn good Doctor Who story too, I loved it.

I agree I really enjoyed the audiobook of Engines of War and hope that Nick will narrate future Chronicles of War. However I have to admit that I listened to that audiobook before the War Doctor audios came out, so I guess I should really give it another listen to make sure his interpretation is as good as I remember. Now that we have the genuine article to compare with.
