Moffatt Era Docs "tricky" now Dudman's gone (hopefully it won't be ages before BF come up with something) Regards mark687 Well i am glad that Christopher Eccleston and Big Finish are still on good terms and i think that if Big Finish wants a "Dark Eyes 1, Tenth Doctor and Donna Vol 1 Sale Event" then getting both Christopher Eccleston and Rose together is without a doubt a paramount goal that would sell insanely well.
but The Mofatt Era Doctor Chronicles being tricky only comes to The 11th Doctor Chronicles as Dudman was the best 11th Doctor impressionist however when it comes to
The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles than its quite simply untrue as they already had actors at Big Finish that had far superior impressions of Peter Capaldi than Jacob Dudman did the actors in question are Jonathan Carley (who portrayed 12 in several YouTube Audios and even Lockdown) and Christopher Thompson (who did the Superior adaptation version of The Star Beast for Big Finish he did a YouTube audio dramas that featured 12 and even a video of himself with Peter Capaldi which surprised peter at how good his impression was)
and if it comes to storywise than thats even more laughable as Moffatt had plenty of moments to insert audio stories

Personally I think Christopher's fan impression of Capaldi is vastly overrated, I wouldn't say it's any better than Jacob's, but Jacob is still the better actor of the two, so I know which one I prefer. Dan Starkey would be the one I'd go for – his 12th Doctor voice is genuinely great.

I guess the cost of coffee in the uk money is considerably different to overseas price of coffees

Presuming it’s only downloads, my pre-order price was AUD $388 so $7.46 for 52 coffees, that’s still a fairly expensive cappuccino in Brisbane!

“cost of the Classic DW Bundle was the equal-ant Price of 52 Coffees.“ I guess the cost of coffee in the uk money is considerably different to overseas price of coffees Assuming he’s talking about the 15 release bundle at a download price of £264, that’s £5.07 a coffee, which is still pretty extortionate! You’d have to be getting the largest themed latte at Starbucks to touch that price. I struggle with price comparisons like that. They’re very circumstantial. The whole reason direct debits exist is to spread out a much larger cost across a period of time.

“cost of the Classic DW Bundle was the equal-ant Price of 52 Coffees.“ I guess the cost of coffee in the uk money is considerably different to overseas price of coffees It tells us something about people's relative expectations of coffee I suppose? It might be correct, for a central London up-market venue, where you pay for the venue, not the coffee!
Priced in jars of 'supermarket instant' it probably works out rather differently...
Anyway, tea in a thermos is the way to go. ((C) Dwayne Dibley)

Or coffee in a thermos. Actually, in my case, it's homemade coffee or tea in a very well insulated travel cup.

Coffee in the UK must be expensive, the Canadian Bundle price of $449 works out to about 217 large coffees at one of our most popular chains!

Live Link www.bigfinish.com/Podcasts/v/2024-02-11-revolution-threatsThe Chat The 3rd and 9th Doc Nick thinks Chris Ecclestone marked the start of the more approachable Doctors , and appreciates Jon Pertwee more from professional viewpoint and observes the Era as being consistently high quality. Benji remarks that if you're looking for what marked the resurgent of high quality TV Drama to check out Cracker (Crime Drama starring Robbie Coltrane, and featuring Chris Ecclestone in the early Eps) as a child of the Wilderness Years the Doctor that's grown in Benji's appreciation is Patrick Troughton. Bits and Bobs Chris Ecclestone still gives people a look if they try an impression of him From the E-Mails Appreciation from a BF newbie CD Collectors "will be fine if they get in early" despite Limited Pressings apparently! "New Companion Chronicles will be more like EAs with Steven Noonan and Micheal Troughton appearing with TV Companion Actors"
Interesting i wonder if this means that they will be full cast or will they have narration in them, i am hoping for the former as narration always takes me out of it
" BF never not try to get New Who Actors and are always grateful to those that work with them and Tennant may return"
Tennant yeah i could picture him back in a year or 2 but the case of Big Finish never not trying to get New Who Actors...hmmm wonder how its going getting David Morrissey the only 10th Doctor companion to not appear in a big finish audio Nick? Next 3 years of BF output is planned and almost locked in.
Well Naturally 4th Doctor Audios are locked in till 2030+ still glad that Big Finish is good to plan ahead

I think the issue with the limited to 1,500 copies thing is that by its very nature it’s inconsistent. Ranges will sell better than others, which will completely alter the time it takes for these things to sell out and nobody knows how many sales have been carried out on preorders before official announcements and confirmation of units remaining. Or does it go 1,500 copies from announcement, in which we have another Once & Future situation where there’s actually more copies than what’s being listed? And has 1,500 been something that’s carefully considered, as in some cases I wonder if they’d be stuck with more leftovers in the warehouse than they would if they’d have just stuck to it being in print for a year? And what about selling to other retailers, how many are reserved for them?
It just seems like it’s a policy they’ve implemented without any real thought into it. We’ve either been stung in the past as customers, or have seen many examples of where their previous efforts at limited edition have gone belly up to be confident this has been done sensibly.
As for the Chronicles effectively being like the Early Adventures, well they’re not Chronicles then are they? They’re just an extension of the existing 1DA & 2DA ranges. It worked for the Eleventh Doctor in absence of anything else. But presumably there must be a market that are interested in the Companion Chronicles because they’re era authentic? Throwing Noonan & Troughton’s frankly patchy performances into the mix doesn’t seem like the recipe for a successful relaunch. I’ll be very interested to see who they get on board, as Peter Purves has been rather vocal in the past about not wanting to perform opposite a Hartnell impersonator. Take him out of the equation, along with William Russell & Anneke Wills’ retirements and I’m not sure what you’re really left with.

And what about selling to other retailers, how many are reserved for them? I don't think it's a company-wide policy. Goth Opera for example isn't a limited CD release, whereas the new 4, 5, 6, and Missy sets are. I think there'll be a blend going forward - I doubt the 8DAs or 9DAs aren't outselling the 1500 number.
