I feel like I owe mud an apology. It's remarkably clear compared to the above.

Looks like this weekend will be a series of retrospectives on the different eras of the Eighth Doctor on audio.

I feel like I owe mud an apology. It's remarkably clear compared to the above. TL: DR, Eighth Doctor Adventures, Dark Eyes and Doom Coalition available for 50% with the code EIGHT50. Wording could definitely be clearer.

Code works on Individual Titles (not Individual MRs) Bundles on EDAs Series 1-4 have been reduced without the need of Code (Dark Eyes and Doom Colition Bundles back at £80 each code doesn't apply on theses) so you can plug gaps and buy the next full series in 1 order if you want.

They've raised the price of the bundles by 100% and then offered 50% off. Wow. Thanks for the immense savings.
Is it just me or is this a disingenuous way of doing a sale? Seems really misleading. I expect better of Big Finish.

I automatically ordered Doom Coalition 3 & 4 when I saw the sale, but have just rung up Big Finish to cancel. You're quite right that the deal isn't as good as it looks - it might save money on the current full price of the boxsets, but it's really just reverting to the pre-order price, which doesn't feel like a sale to me. Not enough to spend more money in a month where things are quite tight.
I think I'll keep my money for another day...

A bit odd to include Paul McGann. Hardly like he set the prices! But I was personally thinking of emailing Big Finish. Not that I'd expect that email would end up in Vortex.

I feel like I owe mud an apology. It's remarkably clear compared to the above. Did the Eleven write that announcement - all of him at once? I'm pleased to see it's not just me who didn't get it - I thought I'd woken up on the wrong side of stupid this morning. The individual 8DAs at 50% off are a good offer, I'll be looking at a few more of these. The bundle price of £15 for the 11 early MR stories (pre-Zagreus) is also a very good offer if you need to buy the complete set.

I expect better of Big Finish. I've personally reccomended the 8th Doctor stories as a jumping on point to several people now converted to the BF wagon, but all of them initially balked at the price and had to wait for sales or pre-order discounts before they could afford to get into the audios properly, sales such as these are a great opportunity to bring in new listeners, I'm frankly a little surprised BF don't offer more money off, obviously they have very specific costs and business needs, but if they can afford to put stories on sale every now and again, why not make them slightly cheaper?

I bought Doom Coalition 1-4 as a bundle last month; $80 (Canadian). Now the bundle shows as $160, without the code... So what happens next week, after this sale is over? Good thing I bought it early, I guess. Pretty disappointing business practice.

Even weirder - each Doom Coalition set, on their own? Listed at $35 Canadian. So if a customer ignores the bundle, bought each set individually, (ignoring the sale, assuming these prices continue next week after the sale is over) they'll save $20?
You can buy the bundle for $160, or each set individually for $140 total?
What's going on?
And even assuming the prices return to normal next week, if you're a customer who is unfamiliar with Big Finish's sales and doesn't know where to find the code, you're really going to get fleeced this week!

I expect better of Big Finish. I'm sure this is not what BF have intended, and that it is a glitch or a miscommunication. It's not so much it would be disingenuous as that it would breach the ASA code, which states that the price the discount makes comparison with should be the most recently available price and have been in effect for 28 consecutive days previously (unless stated otherwise).

Confused. OK, I read it ten times and then consulted K-9, the Matrix and the White Guardian and I think it means: The discount code CANNOT be used for the MR 8th Doctor stories but there are special MR bundles just for this offer, which are pre-priced at a discount; individual MR releases cannot be bought at a discount. The discount code CAN be used for all individual 8DA and 8th Doctor boxset releases - 50% off every such title. The discount code CAN be used on bundles of these titles - but the bundle prices currently reflect this to avoid giving double discounts on the bundles. (I guess.) However, if you want the download version of the boxsets, it appears to be cheaper to buy the boxsets individually (£17.50 each after discount) than in the bundle where the download and CD versions are the same price making the downloads £20 each after discount, same as the CD versions. I think. (Going for a mug of tea and at least one biscuit. EDIT: Fruit shortcake x 3 ) EDIT 2: BF soon cleared up the confusion, good for them. (See later post.)

The Problem is the OFFER Discount when applied makes the Bundles prices the same they as they were Yesterday so that aspect is highly misleading.
