Who are your final bets. And this isn't a debate who is good or not just who you think it is.
Mine are Alexander Vlahos and Paterson Joseph.
Edit: Also just for fun, cuz I know it will never happen but Hugh Laurie as The Doctor with Stephen Fry as his companion.

Ultimately, I'm very much sad to say that it will probably be Jodie Whittaker.
Sad times...

Given how she's come from nowhere a week ago to being neck-and-neck with Kris Marshall at the top of the Odds it does seem like we've reached the point where people in/associated with the BBC have started making sneaky bets.

Woman Doctor will likely equate in nobody watching the show and it's inevitable cancellation.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sheridan Smith. Purely based on the Big Finish sale, today. I don't think I'm right but this is the only interesting guess I can make that's even tangentially tied to a recent development

If we lived in the 1950s. No. The idea that the only thing people have cared about for the past 54 years is what's between the person playing the Doctor's legs is just nonsense. Make a list of the things people like aboyt the series and find me one that would be absent sans penis.

I predict nobody who guesses before Sunday turns out to be right.

I have this horrible feeling that it might be Kris Marshall, and it'll be one of those "worst kept TV secrets" kind of thing. I really hope I'm wrong.

I don't have much, I'm afraid. Too many conflicting signals for me. My gut feeling is that it will be Paterson Joseph, but I feel like the fact that he's already been a favorite in years past makes him markedly less likely to be cast. On the other hand, he could be the black actor who apparently turned the role down, in which case he might have changed his mind.
Then there's Alexander Vlahos, who feels right, but honestly I suspect that's dreamcasting on my part.
Still, that's the best I've got, so Joseph/Vlahos it is!

Damien Maloney or Harry Treadaway for me i think either actor would be brilliant.

If I had to pin a name down....I'm going Kris Marshall.
I'd prefer a few names but none of them seem to be in the running and I'm not sure we'll get a major shock name.

Hello again.
There I was happily watching my Friday night treat, The Last Leg, when Adam Hills remarked that their hashtag #eddieisitok? was trending in the top position while #thirteenthdoctor was number two.
Whaaaat?! So of I go to Radio Times site and then to YouTube to see the quirky and delightful trailer. After the Wimbledon men's final is it? I was planning on watching it as I am a big Wimbledon fan anyway. Federer vs Cilic, excellent! So now I am just looking forward to the actual announcement.
Whoever the actor is they will please some but not others. I wish them all the best. Bonne chance Doctor Thirteen. As to my predictions:
Johanna Konta or Andy Murray...

I've had a look at Kris Marshall's schedule. It's completely clear from what I can tell. He worked on Ugly Lies The Bone till 6th June... funnily enough when the Xmas special production began.
And also I don't think we need to worry about him being worried about going to Cardiff. He lives in Bath and worked in London for some months for Ugly Lies The Bone. And Cardiff is a shorter distance from Bath than London is from Bath.
I just hope at this point that it isn't Jodie Whittaker, since she's now, in my opinion, the artist who fits the role the least.

Whoever is cast, it'll be fun. I still think Kris Marshall has the job. There's a double-edged sword with casting a well-known actor - if you liked his previous performances, you'll be happy; if you didn't, you'll grumble. I have mixed feelings, but I like Chris Chibnall and I love Doctor Who, so chances are I'll enjoy Marshall (if it is him).
