I'm still confused as to what Jack's motives were in The Empty Hand. Can someone clarify?

A long game giving Ro-Jedda rope to hang herself with? We know he set the transmitter up and is presently at odds with the rest of Torchwood.

I'm still confused as to what Jack's motives were in The Empty Hand. Can someone clarify? He is definitely playing some sort of long game with Red Door and Ro-Jedda. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get a debriefing between Colchester and Jack after "A Kill to a View" going over what Colchester discovered. Presumably whatever was chasing the aliens will arrive in Part 3. For that matter it would have been nice to hear Colchester telling Tyler about the apartment complex. I am also getting tired with the Ng plot, but understand that they are dragging it out to what had better be a satisfying conclusion in Part 3. Looking forward to the final part in February,

Looking forward to the final part in February, The fact he's going behind the back of Torchwood means he's in too deep, the situation.is very important or that he simply doesn't trust them. Maybe he's trying to help Tyler with the debt Tyle owes Ro-Jedda after Love Rat, in which case Jack is avoiding the team for concern of being chewed out.

My conversion into a 'full' Torchwood fan nears completion - I found this set to be even more enjoyable than the first one. There is a JG Ballard vibe to the wonderfully titled A Kill to a View, which is very much my favourite story. The characters continue to shine, especially Mr Colchester who is a constant delight, and Bilis is a villain of truly classic status. I'm really pleased the excellent Murray Melvin is becoming a regular in the range. Really good stuff. Possibly my favourite BF range at the moment, in fact.

Have we figured out where in the middle of all this Visiting Hours takes place? I seem to recall that there was some talk about it being set during the events of this season somewhere.

I think it's more a case that - like More Than This, etc - it takes place between Miracle Day and Aliens Among Us, rather than explicitly during these box sets. The placement is entirely flexible!

Found it! Loose continuity placement Care of James Goss: Its set after forgotten lives, more than this, made you look {Spoiler}but Visiting Hours may be referenced as occurring during the 1st boxset. Regards mark687

Regards mark687 I'm going to put it between Changes Everything and Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy, personally. And with its inclusion, we get a proper thirteen episode season

I'm going to put it between Changes Everything and Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy, personally. And with its inclusion, we get a proper thirteen episode season Weirdly in that sense, it functions as a Torchwood-lite episode (even though I'd consider Rhys technically part of the team at this point but you know what I mean).

Well, I'm way behind, but just finished Aliens Among Us 2 and going to start on 3 tomorrow. Loved the stories, but I really wonder what Jack is up to also. The suggestion that he may be playing some kind of long game sounds very plausible and very like Jack. And Ng. I'm fascinated with the development of Ng & can't wait to see where they are going with it. I buy the emotional stakes from Riley. My biggest question going into Part 3 is what is Ng's motivation? For the most part she is functioning as a heroic Torchwood protagonist in line with what we'd expect from Gwen. I may be in the minority, but I'd be okay if Ng, Mr. Colchester, & Orr are the core of the team moving forward. Yeah, Ng's motivation is a real mystery and your question is the same as mine. She's acting mostly like Gwen would and it makes me wonder what she's really trying to do. The end with Yvonne Hartman wasn't really a surprise to me cause I know she is in the cast list for AAU 3. But my brain is wondering how the heck she turned up. Or is it not Yvonne Hartman after all?

I guess I was apprehensive about diving into Aliens Among Us v.2[/i] because I wasn't familiar with any of the writers. I should not have been because this was a cracking good set.

BTW, how wonderful that Ramon Tikaram is such a BF regular, he's getting to be the new David Warner he's popping up so often and Sacha Dhawan too - one of my shortlisted "future Doctor" actors. Hopefully he'd get a bit more to do than get chatted up by Jonny Green when piloting the TARDIS but hey, he was still good getting chatted up! He'd be an excellent Doctor. I've thought that since Christmas Day 2013 (shortly after 'An Adventure in Space and Time') when I saw him investigating a haunted book in Mark Gatiss' adaptation of M.R.James' classic ghost story 'The Tractate Middoth'. With Louise Jameson too. As an M.R.James and Doctor Who fan, it really was a Christmas gift. And it still hasn't been released on DVD. I just put Sacha's name in to the search at the top to see what had been said about him previously on here - we were close, number13 , old pal - but not quite right!
