You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

I think they all sound great. And a posthumous release from Tommy Donbavand too. I might be being a bit thick, but I struggled to understand the bit about Thin Time / Madquake. Will Thin Time be solely the companions and Madquake be solely the Doctor? Then they reunite at the end and lead into The Lost Resort and Perils & Nightmares next year? Or is Thin Time two intertwining stories and Madquake is all of them together again? I must say, a story dedicated entirely to the companions appeals, if that’s the case. I also love the Fifth Doctor on his own too. They’re a great TARDIS team so I’m glad they’re going to have a substantial enough era. Lots of great and varied writers Involved across all of the released announced. Thin Time will be just the Fifth Doctor, still travelling solo... Madquake will be just his companions... with added Slitheen! Now that the Main Range is ending and the stated intention is to make new Docs 5/6/7 releases more accessible to "new listeners", does this mean all the MR story arcs will be finishing to tie up loose ends, i.e. will Marc be written out before release 275 or will he carry over into the new 5th Dr Adventures range?

Glad to see Marc returning for however long it may be. George Watkins is a terrific actor. I remember him playing Craig in BF's Survivors. No one can howl in mind numbing agony like Goerge Watkins. Toe curling!

I wonder how pissed at the Doctor Tegan will be for the entire Slitheen episode, can't wait for that. To me the Fifth Doctor adventures have just started to become interesting again after years, I really hope Marc survives for as long as possible. He has so much potential that I don't want his story to feel rushed.

Ooh, I was wondering how the Slitheen's appearance was going to fit in continuity-wise with AoL/WW3 as Nine seems to have knowledge of Raxacoricofallapatorians but not familiar enough with them that he knows it's them right away in that two-parter. Having the companions have their own adventure with them away from the Doctor is the perfect way to do it! I'm really looking forward to them going up against the Slitheen by themselves (especially Tegan!)

It might not be possible to tie all the current MR story arcs up before release #275, as there are still two outstanding Seventh Doctor strands (Mel/Ace and Mags).

We've already seen one Main Range arc jump to box sets - The Sixth Doctor and Peri. They can easily offer bundles or digital boxsets like the UNIT/Cybermen/SJS ones of Main Range stories in future - a bundle of the Tartarus trilogy becoming "Nyssa, Tegan and Marc Vol. 1" for example. (Also, as for Seven's two threads - neither needs that much introduction! There's no real arc for Mel and Ace other than Mel being back and Mags' ongoing dilemma is very easy for a newcomer to understand.)

I am looking forward to these. Great covers. I am even curious about the Slitheen- even if I was annoyed with them on TV. Although, having recently re-watched Boom Town, when played right, the Slitheen are actually pretty good villains. Just leave out the juvenile humor. On Facebook this seems to provoke a mixed reaction- there were several guys going on a rant how the inclusion of the Slitheen has spoiled their BF experience and vow not to buy anymore. Okay, I guess? I get the feeling some people got too much time on their hands. And no real problems.
Oh, and another thing.
We get another story by Dan Abnett!!!!! How awesome is that? I love his writing. I got nearly all his books (Warhammer). Yay!

I don't know why they wouldn't just not buy the Slitheen audios if they don't like them. It's very easy. Unless they're stuck with them because of a subscription, I suppose. But even then, when you subscribe in advance, you should understand you're along for the ride no matter what the releases are about.

I confess that when I read the synopsis I was surprised that they didn’t leave the Slitheen until the “reboot” as they have always been a contentious monster and the monthly range has tended to steer clear of the new series elements. However the concept does sound intriguing, with the companions facing this foe rather than the Doctor. Personally I am intrigued and a little disappointed that they didn’t retain this for the box sets as it might have tempted me.

I’ve never had that much of an issue with the Slitheen myself. I think the Sarah Jane Adventures and other Expanded material have done more outside of their merely being particularly flatulent and developed them into the equivalent of intergalactic gangsters.

I know it pretty much doesn't matter anymore, but for a number of years I've thought the Main Range deserved to be more "main" that it had been treated of late without so many "special" events and weird ideas given to the box sets instead. So this would be an example of just that, only now it's a little too late.

I wasn't impressed by the Slitheen in their first TV appearance, but they certainly didn't spoil my BF experience when they popped up in the fabulous Lady Christina box set... Still, I guess you've got to admire the level of commitment that inspires people to make vows about this sort of thing!

These releases sound very good. I wonder if this is a 'last hurrah' for the MR...
Certainly, the 5th Doctor releases suggest another good arc. I do hope these are developed into the new 5th Doctor Range. I certainly had a lot of enjoyment from the Marc trilogy last year and was definitely a good run of stories.
Nice to see Hex back with the 7th Doctor...
Would be nice if Erimem good also make a return, just to finish off the range. Sadly, the death of Maggie Stables makes the return of Evelyn very, very unlikely (unless we have an off screen cameo or something made up from unreleased material).

While it's not quite the same, a Short Trip read by Colin Baker could be a nice tribute to Evelyn to commemorate the end of the Main Range... Same sort of deal if Caroline Morris doesn't want to come back (although I'm not sure how the rights work with Erimem given she has her own spin-off nowadays).

I feel like Erimem and Evelyn’s time with the Doctor were nicely concluded.
I haven’t listened to all the main range for awhile.
I am sure that Big Finish would like to attract, new listeners, lapsed subscribers and existing subscribers, therefore I would be surprised if they carried over any none TV companions into the reboot.
To my mind, as an “outsider” Ace and Mel both travelling with the Doctor would be fine, just make sure that the first story recapped the circumstances. And the same for Mags. I know she wasn’t a companion of the Doctor, but she was in the television series.
From what has been said I believe it is Marc with the Fifth Doctor who’s story needs to be concluded.
And I think the same for Constance and Flip. I am enjoying following their stories with the Sixth Doctor, but (to my mind) you cannot reboot the range and still keep characters new listeners do not know.
