I also wonder with McCoy unavailable we are getting some scripts that were planed for the Great After.

Strong props to the creative team behind Shadow of the Daleks for bringing it together as quickly as it has (writers, actors, foley, art and all). I think it'll be a lot of fun come October/November, something to listen to in the run-up to Christmas.

With regular Monthly Range releases I have to listen to it all in one go or else I’ll forget the story by the time I’m to the end. With these it looks like I might have a chance to do a story every day (or every couple of days) to draw out the enjoyment!

So my question to that would be, if these stories were conceived, written, recorded, sound designed, scored & edited in lock down, they are still taking up two of the final year's Main Range line-up, so were the stories meant to be released in those months going to see life in a post monthly adventures? Or did BF not have the final year's worth of stories, pardon me, locked down prior to stay-at-home orders?

I’m not 100% sure of the ins and outs, but as I think David suggests in the news report, there were a couple of slots unrecorded.

Look at these amazing covers! Kudos to them for being able to turn a problem into an event! Personally, as not a subscriber to the monthly range, I am disappointed they didn’t offer these two releases as their own bundle. Yes!Come on BF where is the bundle price??For us non MR subscribers!!!(Its all money in the bank!!)

Surely the decision to end the MR was made long before lockdown??? Yes, but the way the last dozen or so are turning out has been changed by "events, dear boy, events"

Yeah, not recorded but surely not unplanned though, right? And if you don’t know, thanks anyway.

It's not like it would be hard to throw two Main Range scripts together in a box set - the Fifth Doctor Adric box was basically that, after all.

I know they’ve done this idea a few times before ‘The Dread of Night’ and The House on the Edge of Chaos’ immediately spring to mind as an example but there is just something so right about having a Doctor Who story featuring a supposedly haunted house.

It's been about two months since we've had a new Main Range release.

It's been about two months since we've had a new Main Range release. ... and just when they'd got people in to the habit of calling it a monthly range!

On a personal note, I've been gagging for Big Finish to 'tackle' Lovecraft - either as adaptions of his stories, or a 'Doctor Who meets...' type of thing. Now we have one, it seems to have been confined to TBA hell!

Yes very cowardly behaviour from BF.

Yes very cowardly behaviour from BF. I didn't say that.
