Had had.
That's it. The two consecutive "hads."
I experience a deep and abiding loathing every time I see it.
Its slightly more tolerable when used with a contraction (EG "she'd had") but still -- abomination is abomination.

Too low tv volume especially watching event tv or movies, if it’s not proper surround sound where I feel like the characters are right in the room with me it’s not loud enough for me . I have noticed when I watch tv at other people’s houses they always have it so quiet I have to strain to hear and it’s very difficult for me to pay attention. It drives me crazy!I can barely pay attention at all if it’s at a low volume. Maybe I’m just weird though, growing up and currently my parents and I always have the tv and music so loud you can sometimes actually feel the walls vibrate and often could hear it from outside the house. Does anyone else need their tv at a loud volume in order to pay attention? No, but tangential to that, I know so many people who have told me the sound is wrong when they're watching a bluray or DVD. Then turns out they've got the 5.1 or 7.1 surround selected when they only have stereo speakers. So many people don't know ow to configure their TV and stereos. And worse, they keep motion smoothing on during movies. BIG peeve is people zooming in to "get rid of the black bars". They're supposed to be there, you're only cropping out the picture now, or worse, stretching it so everyone looks wider than they should

. Does anyone else need their tv at a loud volume in order to pay attention? Maybe not quite so loud that the walls shake, lol, but things definitely need to be at a certain volume - particularly the quiet parts - in order to hold my attention.

Yeah if I’m upstairs and someone is watching tv or listening to music downstairs it will usually be so loud I can hear it from my bedroom. No I am not exaggerating about the vibrating walls, sometimes if someone is watching tv or listening to music there have been times where pictures on the walls actually start shaking. I try to be mindful about it at night though, luckily I have headphones for the tv if it’s late at night.

I started getting a lot of disgusting sexually oriented spam mail a few months ago, much of it in German, for some crazy reason. I don't speak German, but I can tell what they're about. Don't know if there's a relationship, but a lot of it started after I signed up for a Discord account. I wish Gmail had a way to block the words/phrases I'd rather not see. You might say, don't even look in spam, but I do have to look in order to find legitimate emails that have inadvertently been routed to spam. I just wish it would stop.

Although some DVD’s don’t give you a choice. The Star Trek movie Blu-Ray’s only have 7.1 sound as an option. If I get a soundbar I might be able to rectify this.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that a lot of Youtubers, mainly in reviews, tend to have bad diction and, despite obviously knowing how to edit, constantly trip up or slur their words? Was a second take really hard to get?
That and use words like 'infamous' in the wrong context?

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of websites appear to have added an extra page or two to reduce their efficiency and intuitiveness in the last few months?

The phrase 'The customer is always right'. As someone who has worked in customer service for years and still is, with last night being a prime example, the customer is so often not right. I sometimes long to tell customers off…

I sometimes long to tell customers off… Is it a rule not to? If so then wow! Not sure why you'd be surprised by that. Even if the customer is wrong, telling them off is a good way to start losing your clientele. If someone has a good experience in a store or with a service of any kind, they likely pay their bill and move on. If they have a bad experience they tele-phone, tele-graph, tell-a-neighbor, and these days tell-the-internet. Not good publicity for the company.

Oh for sure, and though it might be nice to tell them off, often the immediate response is not fun as well.

I used to in a constructive way. no real surprise there.. I had 1 customer 22 years ago, accuse me personally of putting up the prices in the supermarket I worked in for 9 years.. The Government introduced a GST (Goods and Services Tax). He yelled at me and poked me in the chest.. Big mistake by him..

Yeah, the rules change when people get physically aggressive with you, I would think.

Yeah, the rules change when people get physically aggressive with you, I would think. What actually are those rules? Over here (USA) retail works can legally defend themselves in cases like that, but doing so would typically lead to being fired. But the consumer culture in general here is pretty ****ed up.
