I haven't been buying UNIT, but I did pre-order the War Master solo set. I'm very tempted to get this because he's in it, but then I may wait and see how much "UNIT Encounters" leads into this foursome. Do UNIT sets tend to end on cliffhangers, like several of the Jago & Litefoot ones do?

Now with this announcement of Cybermen in a May boxset along with a Time Lord villain I do wonder if Big Finish have something different lined up for the March Third Doctor adventure... You could very well be right, but I hope not. I know The Blue Tooth is wonderful and all, but a full cast 3rd Doctor / Cybermen story really needs to happen, and it's needed to happen for a very long time in my opinion. The Benny story Judgement Day has tainted my caveman impression forever. It have Angry Birds. Blue tooth. Ugg head hurt.

There is some continuity in the range but nothing that should leave anyone confused.

What a great line up! I've already had the set pre ordered for a long time now, but it's developing into a must listen with each announcement.

I do hope The Mater w/Cybermen vs UNIT doesn't become a bit of a trope...

Gosh, now that you mention it, I hope that isn't the case. Between this set and the idea of a Third Doctor vs Cybermen story I'd really prefer the latter. So fingers crossed BigFin aren't put off by some redundancy, lol

They could easily both be Cybermen stories. The classic Third Doctor meets the sinister stealthy emotionless scary undead classic series Cybermen and new series UNIT meet the loud stomping emotionally troubled unscary robotic new series Cybermen... ( Mondasian Cybermen like Bill are classic series of course and uber-scary!) Anyway, there's no limit to the number of simultaneous Cyber-stories. They think every story should become like them...

We've had Dalek stories been released pretty close together in the past, plus in Dec, Feb and May we're getting the War Master (as well as the First Master)

How exciting. UNIT vs Cybermen is pretty exciting on its own, but then having the War Master in there is that bit extra on top. They're certainly getting their mileage out of Sir Derek Now with this announcement of Cybermen in a May boxset along with a Time Lord villain I do wonder if Big Finish have something different lined up for the March Third Doctor adventure... That would be an awful way to troll those of us who have been asking for Cybermen in 3DA since day one.

Wouldn't be unprecedented for the same villain/monster to turn up in different releases close to each other - this year we've had Daleks in The War Doctor in February, the main range in April, in The Lives of Captain Jack *and* The Companion Chronicles in June, the 3DAs in August, The Eighth Doctor: The Time War in October and UNIT: Encounters and The War Master still to come.

Call me mad, but I don't think they were. Nick isn't credited as them in the cast list either. To be fair though, I hadn't actually realised just how many Dalek stories had been released this year! Nice comprehensive list

Everyone wants 3rd Doctor and unit vs cybermen, it’s be a hoot if they showed up and he happened to be off on an adventure to metebelis III.

Maybe in the next set UNIT should take on Rick Astley?
