No coverage of this release in this months Vortex, sadly! I was disappointed about this, too, until I realised maybe this was because there's some awesome twist in it: i.e., it's so good, even discussing it is spoilery.

I’ve got a feeling this’ll be set after Death in Heaven.
I mean I can see references to their previous encounter with the Cybermen and Master happening (possibly with Jacobi even contributing to Missy acquiring her Cybermen??) and no doubt Big Finish will want to move these sets into more recent territory and bring them to the Capaldi era.
Plus we already know that the previous sets take place after Day of the Doctor, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to me if they all took place after Death in Heaven and this encounter with the Cybermen and Master will dredge up bad memories for the surviving Osgood.
Or maybe I’m just an insane conspiracy theorist rocking back and forth in the corner with a tinfoil hat on. Either way works.

This one was confirmed to be set post- Death in Heaven in the promo pieces for it, but I was pretty certain the other sets had all taken place pre- The Day of the Doctor as I thought Osgood was regularly mentioning how she'd love to meet the Doctor but never had.

I think everyone just assumed it was after Death in Heaven (myself included) because in the promo material they say it’s time for round two against the Cybermen but we don’t really know if they meant that in an in-Universe or out of universe context. As for the Osgood thing, I don’t think we were ever given a specific setting for these sets but everyone assumed it was before Day of the Doctor because we couldn’t reference any UNIT stories past and there was only one Osgood in the mix. But in Shutdown apparently Osgood recalls meeting a man with a bowtie in the Tower of London and later in Assembled after Benton recalls The Three Doctors, she said she experienced something similar. I reckon the sets probably take place closer to The Magicians Apprentice or The Zygon Invasion/Inversion than any other stories to be honest.

I'm relistening to the series and in Shutdown Osgood imagines the Doctor coming to UNIT HQ. TARDIS Wiki lists this as a reference to Day of the Doctor but we specifically hear the TARDIS land there, although (as far as I can remember) that never happens in Day. Also when Benton mentions meeting three doctors Osgood seems to be jealous of him, although it could be interpreted as remembering a similar experience.

I'll admit I haven't heard Shutdown since it came out (so about 2 years ago), nor Assembled since it came out (so about 1 year ago - wait, what?! That went quickly!), so my memory may not be accurate nitronine seems to recall things similar to me, but that still doesn't mean that we're right (we could both be wrong). I guess I'll just have to find the time to listen to them again (which I'm all for, as they're both brilliant )

Can’t wait to get stuck into this later. The relatively small cast really appeals too, as does more from the Jacobi Master.

Best UNIT volume so far! Well done to all the Big Finish cast and crew involved! I enjoyed it, but I felt like I enjoyed Encounters a lot more. (the only other UNIT set I’ve heard is Extinction) I think this is one of those sets for me, that I’ll have to give another listen to before making up my mind how I feel about it. interesting news about Series 7 though, as it’s going to be two 2 Part Stories.

I can't listen to this yet but is there any indication in it whether this is set after Death in Heaven like the announcement suggested?

Everything is fairly ambiguous until the final moments, but then as the Master leaves, he says to Osgood, “I’ll have to kill you another time” and then Osgood later says, “I can’t believe I met the Master and actually survived”.
