Steam Summer Sale. Since it was very much recommended to me and has been sitting on my wishlist for ages now, I finally got Firewatch. Looking forward to it. And, since I enjoy stealth action adventures- I also got Dishonored Definite Edition. Got lots of positive reviews and was compared to Deus Ex Human Revolution which I enjoyed very much. Plus, it has a steampunk setting. Pretty much ticks all of the boxes. Bonus- today I left work for my 2 weeks holiday. I hope I get a lot of reading, PC gaming and of course listening in. Bring it on!

Steam Summer sale. Again. "Ape Out" caught my eye. Sounded more like an artwork than a game. I definitely love these experimental things. And wow!! This is amazing. Ultra violent of course, but wow. The minimalistic art is great. Bold colours. Simple shapes. Quick visual cues. Visually stunning. And then there is the interactive, adaptive jazz music, which reacts to everything you do. This is indeed a work of art. I am blown away. It is nothing I would play for hours on end, but as a quick game you can fire up for just half an hour or so this is great. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a bit of experimental gaming.

Decided on a splurge that isn't Big Finish and bought a couple sets of the Nintendo Switch Online vouchers and redeemed one for New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. Planning to use the rest for Link's Awakening, Dragon Quest, and Pokémon.

Having been playing The Last of Us lately (far more than I'd like to admit - I'm just about to finish my sixth play through), I've fallen in love with the soundtrack. A quick look on Amazon revealed that I could pick it up on CD for $8.10 with free shipping, so I think I've got a good deal there

The Trogdor!! Board Game I backed on Kickstarter arrived on Saturday. Looks fantastic. Now I just need to find some people to play it with. The pieces look great, pretty much exactly as pictured in the Kickstarter campaign. I got the basic (Wing-a-Ling) level, but now I kind of wish I'd gotten the Burninator level that includes 3D plastic pieces. But considering my spouse didn't want me to back it at all... I went for the cheapest level, but did pick up some extras that were offered to backers once the campaign ended. Oh, and scroll down this page for: ATTENTION PEOPLE THAT LIKE DUMB SONGS!

Got my copy of What We Left Behind, the Star Trek Deep Space Nine documentary in the mail today. It's a combo DVD/Blu-ray. Can wait to watch it (though I did already see the preview that was streamed for backers). It's really great, worth watching (and available for pre-order, it seems, if you want to own it).

Three belters in the post today: Two and a half years after backing the Indiegogo campaign, my DS9 backers bluray finally arrived. The insert has a lovely print of Sisko and there are quite a few features not on the retail Shout Factory disc. Seeing my name in the credits with Terry Farrell's still gives me a geeky thrill. Then one of the best horrors of all time in Nic Roeg's masterpiece Don't Look Now, 4K disc, two blurays and the soundtrack so a big 4 disc set with poster, book and artcards. LOADS of extras not on the previous release and a transfer that blows the Criterion bluray away. If you love this fim - and you should - you need this set. Then Eastwood's most gentle, "nice" film which I've always had a lot of time for. Sondra Locke was never better. First time on bluray anywhere. Warner Archive, as often, do the Lord's work. Bronco Billy abides.

Second Sight's new release of The House That Dripped Blood. I think it's one of the more underrated of the Amicus portmanteau horrors. And who is that creepy vampire stealing centre stage from Messrs Lee and Cushing? number13 any idea? Attachment Deleted
