Alexei Sayle said on his last podcast he recorded a commentary with Nicola Bryant this month. So Revelation Of The Daleks, and thus S22 are in active development. Not at all surprised by this, especially given that we saw Colin filming something in his Necros costume. The question is… is it the next one or a little ways off? Apparently the next set has been leaked (I think on GB?) but I haven’t seen anything about it on Twitter yet…

AKA What's freely available on YouTube Regards mark687 It would be nice to have had some exclusives for this set, but I suppose it is good to have all of these under one roof, as t'were. The classic series Blu-ray and DVD sets continue to trounce the new series releases. Edit Actually War of Sontarans Commentary is New I think. Regards mark687

I must confess that I’ve been a bit disappointed in the Season 17 set. Made my way through the new features and only Tom Talks did anything for me really. I felt the Destiny and Douglas Adams documentaries were a bit aimless, the latter not helped by a couple of people who didn’t seem terribly fond of him overall! The new commentaries felt a bit lifeless too, Tom was just going through the motions on his and Toby Hadoke seemed happy enough to let him. Tom is brilliant, but he needs some push and not necessarily asking stuff directly relating to what’s happening on screen. That’s where Tom Talks really works; they take inspiration from the stories but apply it to a general question and Tom runs with it to brilliant results. I think The Doctor’s Table would be better with that sort of structure actually. Still, nothing is bad and it’s all about the stories really, which have never looked better. I do have a soft spot for S17! I couldn't help noticing how much Tom appears to have aged in rhe last couple of years

The classic series Blu-ray and DVD sets continue to trounce the new series releases. When The Collection inevitably starts tackling new Who, that'll be the chance for better extras. But yeah, it's pretty poor what they've come up with in recent years.

That might be partly due to him losing weight, which is noticeable. I was watching the Making of Destiny of the Daleks, and was very heartened by how full of vitality and humour he is. What I'd give to be as vibrant and full of energy at that age!

Lee Binding shared this - it was is original idea for the booklet older/velcro bit on The Collection set for S17 but he didn't want the set to feel like "City Of Death...And Other Stories" so came up with the lovely Nimon art with Soldeed et al. I think he made the correct choice. Nice art here but I like that the others are action shots, or exploration shots. This is too....cosy? Feels more like an illustration of a real PR still rather than Lees other works which often make stories look massively epic and ominous.

Which is good news for all those unreleased Big Finish stories!

Wonder why the "surprise" listin on the special features for Matthew Sweets interviews, only for them to just show its Michael Grade in the trailer? I did think Colin and Saward cuddled up on the sofa was a dream too far

So is Leo Flanagan as Rex (alien sp?) an official companion now? It does say Eternal Mystery is a brand new ep after all? If so, we can add him to the companions previously in the show, he was Charlie in "Kerblam". TARDIS wikia are no doubt having extremely important discussions on these matters now!

Like most of these Blu-ray trailers, this has brought a nostalgic tear to my eye. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
{Spoiler} And Grade, the villain with the panto laugh - it's almost nice to see him!
This will be pre-ordered, I can't wait to get it.
