And it's gone already. Season 14 is also currently unavailable.

Regards mark687 Retailer exclusives kill the competition though - I like Zoom for the early deliveries, discounts and great packaging. Others like Amazon as they can use vouchers to pay releases off gradually and they offer tiered delivery services. Other sites offer more cashback incentives. I think the limited model far from being flawed is why the range is flourishing. You don't see any "I'll wait for a sale..." posts now like you did in the DVD era. That's up front money in the bank to fund future releases. The only flaw was the underestimating in demand for S12 and that's now been rectified. They'll all come back into print at some point in a few years, without the packaging. I have zero doubt. That'd be money sitting on the shelf for BBCWW.

And if you are region free, the US versions without the pretty packaging and books all seem to be available.

I think it’s too early to be doing re-releases at the moment (aside from bumping the Season 12 numbers) until BBC Studios have a good vision of what they would like a re-release to look like. They need to study the trends. For example, are all the sets going to sell out? Is it just going to be specific Doctors? They’ll need to determine whether they’re just fulfilling demand, or essentially crafting a new range, albeit through repackaging. I think the closest to a retailer exclusive you’re going to get would be if a retailer decided to have their own exclusive artwork, much like steelbooks or HMV’s new First Editions range. I think that’s highly unlikely, though; it would’ve happened for Season 14 if anything. The next opportunity would be if they tackle the post-2005 series, or Season 13 - proper big hitters.

They’ll need to determine whether they’re just fulfilling demand, or essentially crafting a new range, albeit through repackaging. I think they'll all sell out; we've seen S23 go now, more or less, though it did take a while - and for all I like the Trial season, it's not the most popular ever. I would imagine that they will produce different quantities per title based on expected sales but judging that in advance must be very difficult indeed. S18 took a long time to sell out compared with the others so far, presumably due to extra stocks after learning from S12 just how popular Tom Baker's seasons were going to be.
The one that did surprise me was S10. Two months from release and it was Metebelis and out. Now I know that the Third Doctor is the very best ever and S10 is a cracker, but it disappeared faster than roast mushroom at a Nuthutch dinner party and I'm guessing the demand had been way underestimated.
It must be so difficult to get volumes right, but as long as we can get our pre-orders in on announcement day, that's all that really matters!

I believe that one of these sets coming out on time would be the first sign of the apocalypse.

'A lamentable lassitude but perfectly prognosticatable by the populace.' 'You mean it's a pity it's going to be late but anyone could have forseen it would be!'
(Whenever J&L and all the other treasures of S14 appear out of the swirling Victorian fog in full blu-ray splendour, it'll be a date worth having waited for!)

As always, take the extra couple of weeks to get things right. Who can't wait an extra fortnight? In fact who isn't even factoring in the extra fortnight to the release dates already given they've all had it? Besides, April 20th is STACKED for bluray releases - Rio Grande's deluxe edition from Masters Of Cinema, Indicator's John Ford At Columbia set and Second Sight's special edition box of Man With The X-Ray Eyes...I'll have plenty of watching that week anyway! And a May release ties S14 nicely into my birthday, so I'll have a week off to really devour it!

I believe that one of these sets coming out on time would be the first sign of the apocalypse. Er … don't want to alarm you, but I've just had an email from Amazon to say season 12 will arrive early "based on new release date"
Hope I get it all watched before the apocalypse hits!

Relax, it's a re-release so no apocalypse is indicated by early arrival! (Expect the four horsemen all got their copies of S12 two years ago and think Skaro looks like a good job well done, feet up lads we can take the day off.)

Regards mark687 For anyone who hasn't got their pre-order in yet, fabulous S14 is still there on Zoom, waving a hand (of Fear), pulling a face (of Evil) and twiddling its talons (of Weng-Chiang) to get our attention!

Season 12 has been delayed until the 30th March. Apparently due to them being printed with the Season 10 discs! I’m not sure if it’s just the disc art, or if the actual contents are The Three Doctors, etc.
I wonder if that means a Season 10 re-release is on the cards? It could just be a case of the wrong codes being sent to the manufacturer; I’m guessing the printing and packaging process is automated.
