I've not opened mine yet (waiting for that working bluray player...) so it might happen to me too... but my first thought was 'those pages just haven't had the chroma dot processing done yet.'
Bad luck nitronine.
Obviously there's B&W on Set Photos in this one but you'd expect that Regards mark687 Yeah it’s the whole page that’s in black and white. Even the pale blue background has become pale grey.

Someone clearly doesn't tell the official DW Newsletter about stock of these, given this just landed...only a few weeks after this became impossible to source - "The Collection – Season 8 is out now! Revisit the Third Doctor’s adventures with this new Blu-ray boxset. Packed with new special features, including remastered episodes, unseen behind-the-scenes content and more."

Thought the new effects on Terror of the Autons was very tastefully done. I always enjoyed them on the DVDs, but this and Logopolis have shown how effective it can be when they broaden the scope more than SFX or CGI; a lot of it is subtle but it really enhances the experience.
For some reason I always consider Terror a six parter, so I’m always sad when it ends. I always think it’s abrupt, but of course it isn’t, as the story is all wrapped up. Exactly the same for Spearhead from Space. It must be the Nestene!

I dove right into the series 8 collection with the Terrance Dicks documentary featuring Frank Skinner. Beautiful stuff. And I agree with Frank, he should have knocked on Terrance’s door while Dicks was alive.

Managed to secure a copy on eBay that wasn't TOO much more than the original RRP. Counting myself lucky.

Are there chapter breaks in the Terror of the Auton audiobook on the Season 8 bonus disc? Or is it just a case of fastforwarding to pick up where you left off each time?

That's really cool news. It's (amazingly) nearly 3 years since The Collection started and it's clear there's still demand given the scalped prices. I'm a bit surprised these are still pretty deluxe - slipbox, booklet and individual disc art. I thought they'd be like the US ones and really squeeze them down to basics - just discs in a standard box with no slipcover, no booklet, one bit of disc art used on every disc. But these still look like great, marquee releases. If this is what the range looked like before we saw the packaging we do get...I'd have had no issues.

Surprised we didn't even get halfway with the deluxe versions before they did this. Personally I hope this means they'll do reverse on the later 21st century ones so I can have a complete "The Complete Collection Limited Edition" collection Regards mark687

I agree, the packaging is still of a pretty high standard. And they're certainly easier to sort out in the event of any damage than the limited edition releases. Like you, if this is what the range looked like from the beginning, I'd have not had any issues. My only slight one currently is the varying widths of the sets that I think could've been sorted out at the beginning with a bit of foresight. It doesn't look too bad with each season released, though; a bit like an encyclopaedia collection really!

If you discount the more problematic 60s seasons, then we may be halfway by the end of the year! I think these are coming out with enough time having passed since their original release. The odd person who missed out / started late will bite the bullet and get the re-release instead of scouring eBay, but I don't think anyone currently 8 seasons in will decide to hang fire and see if the re-releases either continue or will go down in price, causing them to stop purchasing the limited editions. It's future proofing and getting a new audience I suppose. I'm sure there are plenty out there who were on the fence about Classic Who on BR to begin with and missed out on the first couple of releases and have remained on that fence ever since; you know what fans are like - all or nothing!

These look excellent. Originally I was tempted by the prospect of standard editions in the US format because of the space saving over the rather chunky limited editions... but when they started arriving and I saw the quality of the booklets I was won over (they do justify the space taken)! These sets are big, but they have the booklet... it's not going to stop me going for the limited editions now. But these offer a great deal and without the anxious scrabble over the limited supplies!

Standard edition is very tempting if only for shelf-saving space but the limited editions are far too gorgeous to get rid of.
